Cyberpunk 2077 Panam Romance Guide: Choices, Side Jobs, and Map Spots

Panam Palmer’s romance route in Cyberpunk 2077 is built around specific choices inside her quest chain—plus a few carefully timed side jobs that gradually move the relationship from trust-building to something more intimate. If you want to lock in the right beats, the key is knowing when to back her decisions, when to reassure her, and which on-screen interaction options to select when they appear.

Why Panam’s romance matters (and how it’s structured)

Panam’s path isn’t a single “romance mission” you can stumble into. Instead, it’s a sequence of main and side objectives tied to her larger storyline. You’ll progress through her relationship by completing the right jobs, hitting the correct dialogue moments, and selecting the correct interaction prompts during specific scenes—especially during her side job finale.

Panam Romance Requirements

To pursue Panam as a romantic partner, you’ll need to complete these side jobs:

  • Riders on the Storm
  • With a Little Help From My Friends
  • Queen of the Highway

How to romance Panam: the quest-by-quest checklist

Ghost Town (Main Job)

  • During the mission, you can either help her handle Nash or decide to ignore him. Panam will be upset if you don’t help, but this still doesn’t prevent you from starting a romance with her later.
  • When you reach the Sunset Motel, you can ask whether she wants to share a room with you. She agrees, pointing out the rooms have two twin beds. This choice also doesn’t meaningfully alter your later romance prospects.

Lightning Breaks (Main Job)

  • Finish this quest to unlock the next step in the storyline. There are no romance-related options during this mission.

Life During Wartime (Main Job)

  • This quest begins automatically sometime after the AV is shot.
  • After you save Mitch, ask Panam to come with you as you track down Hellman.
  • At the end, stand up for Panam in front of Saul. If you do, she will thank you for it.

Riders on the Storm (Side Job)

  • Wait until at least 12 in-game hours pass, then take Panam’s call and agree to help her again.
  • Inside the house during the sandstorm, side with Panam in the conversation with Saul.
  • Ask her to take her shoes off and relax once she puts her legs on your lap.
  • Choose the prompt to Touch Panam’s thigh (shown with a hand symbol). The second option, “You Choose,” also works.
  • In the morning, after picking up the Sniper Rifle, approach Panam as she gets on her bike and ask about what happened the night before—before the timed prompt disappears.

With a Little Help From My Friends (Side Job)

  • After another 12 in-game hours, Panam calls again and says she’s dealing with problems involving Saul. Meet her at the Aldecaldo camp to begin the mission.
  • At the locomotive control tower, talk with Panam. She explains she’s been taking things slowly because she doesn’t want to mess up what you two have, and because she cares about you. Agree with her.
  • When offered the chance to reassure her, select Touch Panam’s hand (indicated by the hand icon).
  • When Saul texts you on the phone and asks where Panam is, reply with “No idea” so he doesn’t discover her plan.
  • When you gather with the Nomads around the campfire, you can choose to Scooch closer to Panam. After you tell her you’re going to head to bed, you’ll place your arm around her. This option also shows a hand icon, making it easier to spot, and it remains optional.

Queen of the Highway (Side Job)

  • After finishing With a Little Help From My Friends, you receive the final quest. Leave the camp area and wait until the next day.
  • Wait for 24 in-game hours. Panam will call and say the Basilisk is ready. Go back to the Aldecaldo camp and link up with her.
  • Once you reach the Basilisk, you and Panam share a romantic ride inside a massive war machine.
  • After the training sequence, you’ll get an opportunity to synchronize. Choose Let Panam touch you (the prompt includes a kissing lips icon) to trigger a sexual encounter with Panam.
  • Just as things heat up, you’re interrupted by a group of enemies. After defeating them, return to camp and follow Panam. She tries to persuade you to stay with her and the Aldecaldos. No matter what you say, you’ll pass out and wake up at a new Aldecaldo camp with Panam.
  • After a quick conversation outside with Saul and Mitch, follow Panam. She says she’s willing to help you in any way she can. When the option becomes available, choose Kiss Panam, and she’ll tell you to keep in touch.

What you get after completing the romance

Finishing Panam’s romantic storyline concludes the arc and awards the Life on the Road achievement for completing it. You also gain an additional “home” at the Aldecaldo camp in Rocky Ridge, including storage, a mirror, and a bed.

After the final mission, Panam will sometimes text you that she misses you. She’ll also call you after the game’s conclusion during the end credits, confirming that the two of you are still together.

“Good ending” route and the Phantom Liberty tie-in

There’s also a good ending that involves Panam. If you complete the Phantom Liberty expansion, you can unlock another ending called The Tower, which includes a brief outcome for V with Panam as well.

Later on, you wake up in what appears to be an FIA-run hospital in Langley. Reed is the first person you speak to after the operation.

Reed explains that while the operation succeeded, you lost the ability to use any Cyberware, effectively ending your career as a Night City mercenary.

He also clarifies that the rehab period the operation originally planned for—lasting several weeks—actually left you in a coma for two years.

As you attempt to reach your friends, V realizes the world they once knew is no longer the same.

  • Panam has left NC, and her phone number no longer works. You can only leave her a voicemail.

Panam romance scenes and the apartment hangout update

Where the main romance scene happens

The big romance scene with Panam takes place during the Queen of the Highway side job. After you successfully assemble the Basilisk, the two of you take a romantic ride together.

After completing the driving and shooting training sections, Panam jacks into the vehicle with you, synchronizing both of your bodies and minds.

Panam asks if you want to “try it out?” Choose the first option: Oh, yeah. Let’s go. This is shown by a kissing lips icon followed by [Let Panam touch you].

Once selected, you and Panam enter a sexual encounter.

Apartment Hangout Side Mission (2.1 Update)

Since the 2.1 update, romance partners can spend time with you at V’s apartment. They’ll message you to start the “I Really Want To Stay At Your House” side mission. Go to your place to hang out with them.

During the hangout, you can cuddle on the couch, look out the window, dance, play at the bathroom mirror, shower together, and sleep together. If you want more detail on how these hangouts work, you can review the “How Romantic Hangouts Work” page.

Key takeaways

  • Panam romance depends on hitting specific choices during her questline—some don’t lock you out, but they still affect how the story plays.
  • Riders on the Storm and With a Little Help From My Friends both include timed waits (12 in-game hours) and multiple interaction prompts.
  • The “intimate” moment is tied to Queen of the Highway, where you choose prompts like Let Panam touch you and later Kiss Panam.
  • After the 2.1 update, you can also spend time with romance partners at V’s apartment through the I Really Want To Stay At Your House side mission.
