Witcher 3: Songs of the Past Confirmed as CD Projekt RED’s Third Expansion

CD Projekt RED used this year’s gamescom Opening Night Live to put a spotlight on Wiedźmin 3: Dziki Gon – Pieśni przeszłości, the third expansion currently in development for its hit RPG. The presentation doubles as a bridge for fans looking ahead, positioning Geralt’s next adventure between the third and fourth main entries in the series.

What was shown at Opening Night Live

The team unveiled a new, atmospheric trailer focused on Geralt of Rivia and the setup for the expansion’s story arc. CD Projekt RED also confirmed that the project is being developed alongside Fool’s Theory, with the goal of pushing the next chapter of the Witcher saga forward.

In terms of availability, Pieśni przeszłości is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The expansion reveal wasn’t the only Witcher-related content planned for the show floor. Attendees on site can play a hands-on demo build for the upcoming release.

For those who can’t make it in person, CD Projekt RED is also running a dedicated broadcast program under the REDStreams banner. The stream schedule runs from tomorrow until 30 August, with daily programming scheduled for nine hours each day, from 10:00 to 19:00 Polish time.

Each day’s lineup is promised to include game presentations, special guests, interviews, behind-the-scenes materials, and additional content.
