Boutique Blues Quest Guide: How to Start and Complete the City Town Step

Boutique Blues is the second Quest in Kuromi’s Boutique Quest Chain in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, taking place in the game’s City Town area. You can start it right after completing the earlier Quest, Cake-tastrophe. In this step, Kuromi is pushing forward with her planned Boutique build, but the wish-magic around the city is acting a little off.

Quick facts

  • Boutique Blues is the second Quest in Kuromi’s Boutique chain in City Town
  • It becomes available after Cake-tastrophe
  • Goals include investigating a mysterious large food item and helping Kuromi assemble a purple-themed mood board
  • Quest rewards include Game Ticket x 10

Checklists

As you work through the Quest, you’ll follow three main beats: investigate the odd, oversized food, assist Kuromi while she builds her mood board, and then claim the available rewards at the end. The chain is designed to keep you moving between City Town locations and the crafting resources Kuromi needs.

Investigate The Mysterious Large Food

First, find and talk with Kuromi. She might be wandering around City Town, or she may be back in her usual spot, the Spooky Swamp. When you speak to her, she’ll explain that she has a bunch of fresh ideas for her Boutique.

Next, head to the construction area for the Boutique—specifically, on the rooftop to the left of the Theater—and talk to Kuromi there. She tells you she’s been placing orders for store items and hands you 10 Game Tickets as a bonus. You don’t need those tickets for the actual Quest steps, so you can hold onto them or spend them on any mini-games you feel like doing while you play.

Then Usahana shows up and tells Kuromi and you that more large food items are appearing around City Town. Your job is to investigate those new sightings, and Usahana believes some of them are on the beach.

You’re looking for a large Boba Tea. It’s located at the foot of the stairs leading down from the park near the Rainbow Tower. Once you’re there, use the magnifying glass to interact with it.

After the interaction, several characters appear, including Kuromi. She points out that there’s also a large Onigiri up at the top of the nearby stairs. This is where the Quest shifts from “find the food” to “document the mystery.”

Using your Camera, take a photo of the large Onigiri. After you get the shot, talk to Usahana, who says Chococat might have a theory about why these giant foods are showing up. The group decides to go question Chococat instead, and Kuromi is left disappointed because she feels like no one is paying attention to her Boutique opening.

Help Kuromi Make a Mood Board

Even with everything going sideways, you’re still expected to help Kuromi. She asks you to bring her items for the Mood Board she’s assembling. The theme is clearly purple items, which fits Kuromi’s style perfectly.

Gift Kuromi the following:

  • Light Stone x 1 Kuromi’s return gift
  • Purple Pudding x 1 made at Pompompurin’s Dessert Boat using 1 Cactus Cream and 1 Spinip. Cactus Creams can be collected from Cacti in Gemstone Mountain
  • Spark x 5 made at a Crafting Table; each Spark requires 3 Light Stones
  • Spinip x 1 picked from the edges of water in the Spooky Swamp

Once you hand these items over to Kuromi, the Quest ends. Her Boutique still isn’t quite ready to open, though—so you’ll need to continue through the remaining Quests in the chain.

Quest Rewards

Completing this Quest earns you:

  • Game Ticket x 10 – given by Kuromi at the beginning of the Quest
