Star Fox Switch 2 Hits Major Physical Sales Milestone in One Region
Star Fox’s Switch 2 return has landed at the top of at least one major physical sales chart, with figures posted on June 29 showing the new release outperforming several high-profile releases as June’s retail sales period wrapped up.
Star Fox Switch 2 availability and July 2026 lineup
The Switch 2 version of Star Fox is a remake based on earlier entries in the franchise, and it’s been positioned as a full-series reboot. Separately, Switch 2 owners are also being pointed toward a slate of six of the platform’s biggest games arriving during July 2026.

Even with a mixed reception from reviewers, Nintendo’s latest first-party release has still shown strong momentum in stores. As June ended, Star Fox climbed to the number one spot on the UK’s weekly physical sales charts, beating other multi-platform releases such as EA Sports FC 26 and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. The rest of the top 10 included 007 First Light, Football Manager 26, and Resident Evil Requiem.
On the Nintendo first-party side, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Pokemon Pokopia also made the top 10. Mario Kart World narrowly missed the cut, finishing at number 11. The UK’s top 10 physical chart list also rounded out with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and Resident Evil 3.

The UK performance arrives even as Nintendo pushes a cheaper approach for digital first-party releases. With the launch of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Nintendo’s digital first-party titles are positioned at $10 less than their physical equivalents. For Star Fox, the pricing at launch appears to mirror that same situation—digitally it’s listed at $49.99, while physical copies are $59.99. In the UK, those numbers are reflected as £41.99 for digital and £49.99 for physical.
For the UK chart calculations, physical sales were compiled across multiple retailers during the last complete week of June in 2026. Alongside Star Fox, other releases during the June 21–28 window included the highly anticipated Deltarune Chapter 5, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, and the Switch 2 port of Destroy All Humans!.
On the retailer side, the UK Nintendo Store is currently showing Star Fox physical copies as sold out. At this time, the timing of any restock isn’t specified, meaning Switch 2 players in the UK may need to wait for more details before they can grab a boxed copy.

As of the latest available information, sales figures from other regions were not shared. Even so, the UK results highlight how Star Fox is performing in physical form despite uncertainty around broader pricing moves for Switch 2. Nintendo is still facing a forthcoming price increase for Switch 2 hardware and software across global markets, and it remains to be seen how that will change the balance between physical and digital purchases for the company’s first-party releases over the long run.
