World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 2 Adds New M+ Dungeon and Outdoor Zone
Blizzard has outlined the next big World of Warcraft: Midnight update, with the Curse of Ula’tek set to introduce a brand-new outdoor region, an eight-boss raid, a new dungeon, and the rollout of Midnight Season 2.
Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Rotation
If you’re mostly looking ahead to what you’ll be grinding for gear, the answer is Mythic+.
Season 2 is bringing a fresh Mythic+ dungeon lineup made up of eight total dungeons. The set includes new or current-expansion entries: Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, and Voidscar Arena. Those are joined by three returning fan favourites: King’s Rest, Ruby Life Pools, and Temple of Sethraliss. King’s Rest and Temple of Sethraliss are returning from BFA, while Ruby Life Pools is coming back from Dragonflight. And yes—if you’re planning routes in Sethraliss, you’ll want to be ready for the “snake lightning runner” problem.
New Outdoor Zone: The Coiled Isle
The headline outdoor addition is The Coiled Isle, a new zone positioned off the eastern coast of Zul’Aman. The story continues the thread of Zul’jan, with players stepping in alongside Zul’jarra as she searches for her brother—aiming to bring him, and others, back to Zul’Aman—while also uncovering the island’s buried past.
What really separates The Coiled Isle from a typical open-world area is a dedicated talent tree built specifically for the region. As you explore, you’ll unlock zone-focused perks that range from direct power boosts to quality-of-life improvements. One example is tooling up to lessen the impact of the venom that’s present throughout the island’s hazardous environment. Rather than being a simple open expanse, it’s more of a “systems” zone, featuring public activities that ramp toward boss encounters. You’ll also see Curse Surges that spawn rare elite enemies at five rotating locations. After you defeat the rare elite at a given stop, Cursed Fishing becomes available at that location.
The island is also paired with a new dungeon: The Altar of Fangs. It launches alongside the update as a three-boss dungeon, starting out playable up to Heroic difficulty. When Midnight Season 2 begins one week later, it then joins the Mythic+ rotation.
On top of that, the patch includes a new mainline raid, The Venomous Abyss. It’s a standard eight-boss raid, designed as the payoff for the Zul’jan storyline that runs through The Coiled Isle. The final boss has also been teased as Ula’tek—described as ancient and, frankly, unpleasant.

Beyond the big-ticket features, the blog post and WoWCast also touch on smaller additions such as updates to player housing, PvP rewards, and other minor features.
