How to Access and Customize Photo Mode in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Photo mode is one of the most requested features from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and it’s finally arrived in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. With it, you can freeze the action to grab breathtaking scenery or get a clean shot of Edward mid-slaying, all triggered with a button press. On top of that, the mode includes a range of image customization options, letting you shape the look of your screenshots with different effects. Here’s how to switch Photo Mode on in AC Black Flag Resynced, plus what each part of the feature does.
How to Enable Photo Mode in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced
Before you can use Photo Mode in AC Black Flag Resynced, you’ll need to enable it in the game’s settings. The steps below cover PC and current console platforms, including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Open your settings using the ESC key on keyboard, or the Start button on your controller.
- In the menu, go to the Options section. You can click it with a mouse, press the touchpad on a PS5 controller, or use the View button on an Xbox controller.
- Move to the Gameplay tab, then scroll until you find Photo Mode.
- Switch Photo Mode to the On setting.
Activate Photo Mode (Shortcut Key)
Once Photo Mode is enabled, you can launch it using the following shortcut inputs, based on your platform.
Press both the ‘Left Stick’ and ‘Right Stick’ together.
Press both ‘L3’ and ‘R3’ together.
After you enter Photo Mode in AC Black Flag Resynced, the game will pause while you’re adjusting things, with the exception of cutscenes. From there, you can change the camera angle using WASD and the mouse on PC. On controllers, use the left and right sticks for movement, while height control is handled by LT/R2 or RT/R2.

Photo Mode includes several extra controls that let you refine your screenshot before you take it.
