How to Earn the “Owned” Trophy Fast in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced comes with 50 separate trophies and achievements. You’ll naturally pick up several just by working through the main story, but a chunk of the list is tied to side activities and completion targets. If you’re aiming to rack up as many unlocks as possible, it helps to know the quickest route to the “Owned” trophy/achievement.
I replayed all 14 core entries in the Assassin’s Creed series before Black Flag Resynced released on July 9, and I’ve been ranking them from worst to best. In this guide, though, we’re focused on one specific unlock: the “Owned” trophy.
The “Owned” trophy asks you to fully complete a location—meaning you’re expected to do everything it offers. That typically includes syncing with every viewpoint, opening every chest, tracking down every hidden item, and hunting every animal in the area. Some locations can be packed enough that this takes real time, but for certain spots you can knock it out quickly, especially early on.
How to Get the “Owned” Trophy Easily in AC Black Flag Resynced
For the fastest “Owned” run, explore Abaco Island thoroughly when you arrive for the “This Tyro Captain” quest—the one that happens after you free the pirates and take your first ship. Abaco Island is especially convenient because it only includes a small set of checklist items.
Quick facts: What you need on Abaco Island
- One viewpoint in the middle of the island
- Iguanas and ocelots to hunt
- Two underwater treasure chests off the northeast coast
- A message in a bottle near the small boat on the west side used for fast travel
- A treasure map in the southwest corner by a skeleton (coordinates 581,804)
Reaching the viewpoint is straightforward. Use the trees on the south side of Abaco Island to push your way up to the rock where the point is perched.
Hunting the ocelots is tied directly into the “This Tyro Captain” main quest, so you’ll be doing it anyway. Iguanas are wandering around the northwest and the center of the island. They don’t run fast, so sprint after them, eliminate them with your hidden blade, and skin one to complete the hunting requirement.
The two underwater chests are located in the shipwreck on the north-east side of Abaco Island. After you sync with the viewpoint, one chest should appear on your map, while the second is positioned just a bit north of that area in a separate section of the wreck.
For the message in a bottle, head to the spot next to the small rowing boat on the west side of the island—the same boat you’re likely to have passed while swimming over from the Jackdaw. The treasure map sits at coordinates 581,804 in the southwest corner near a skeleton, and it will also show on your map once you’ve synced with the viewpoint.
Because Abaco Island is small and the checklist is limited to seven simple tasks, it’s one of the easiest places to finish the “Owned” trophy/achievement in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. If you’re willing to spend an extra five minutes there right at the beginning, you can clear it early without turning the run into a long grind.
