Mass Effect Walkthrough: Best Places to Go, NPCs to Talk To, and Choices

After you wrap up your third Mission World in Mass Effect, the Citadel opens up a smaller set of activities than your first two visits. Still, there are meaningful tasks to handle, plus several conversations that can steer later outcomes. This walkthrough section focuses on where to go, who to talk to, and what to choose to keep things moving.

Checklists

This part of the Mass Effect wiki guide is built around what you can do once you’ve finished your third Mission World. Compared to the earlier stops, there’s less to do, but you’re not out of options. The goal here is to help you survive any fights and make the right selections for your run.

Overview

In this section, you’ll handle everything new on the Citadel after completing your third Mission World. The guide notes that the example Mission World is Noveria, but the same logic can apply to other options as well. Either way, the Citadel changes you’ll encounter are the focus.

C-Sec Academy: Medigel Upgrade

Start by visiting the Requisitions Officer. If you do, you can obtain Medigel Upgrade IV, a straightforward upgrade pickup before you move on to the assignment chain.

Med Clinic 1: Doctor Michel

Next, head to the Med Clinic and speak with Doctor Michel. This begins the “Citadel: Doctor Michel” Assignment, and she should be in the middle of talking to someone on a monitor. Follow that lead to keep the quest progressing.

If you accidentally refuse the Assignment, don’t worry. You can simply talk to her again, then check under Investigate for “Help with threats” to get another chance to accept—assuming you don’t choose “Not my problem.”

Markets: Doctor Michel

Then go to the Lower Markets and talk to Morlan. Say, “I’m here about Dr. Michel” to continue the Assignment, which sets up a confrontation. At this point, you’ll get five choice options.

  • Select “Let’s work this out” for +2 Paragon Points.
  • Choose “Kill him” to fight the Krogan for +2 Renegade Points.
  • Pick “No deal” to fight the Krogan for zero Morality Points.
  • If you have 6 Charm, select “You should reconsider” to convince the Krogan to stand down for +8 Paragon Points.
  • If you have 3 Intimidate, select “Talk and you’re dead!” to convince the Krogan to stand down for +9 Renegade Points.

Before you leave this area, make sure you ask Morlan, “Who’s Banes?” That keeps a related subplot moving alongside the main Assignment.

Med Clinic 2: Doctor Michel

Return to the Med Clinic and speak with Dr. Michel to finish “Citadel: Doctor Michel.” As part of the follow-up, ask her about “Banes.” Michel doesn’t have much information, but a Squad Mate recommends speaking to Anderson for more details, and Anderson is located at the Presidium Embassies.

Presidium: Ask About Banes

Here’s what you can do in the Presidium once you’re looking into Banes:

  • Speak with Udina to hear his reaction to your work on the newest Mission World.
  • Talk to Anderson and ask him about “Banes” to learn more. He’ll direct you toward Rear Admiral Kahoku in the Citadel Tower.
  • Visit Delan, the Emporium shopkeeper in the Financial District Mezzanine, to pick up Grenade Upgrade V and Medigel Upgrade V, described as the final upgrades for both categories.
  • At the Krogan Memorial Statue, talk with Wrex for an exchange between him and Kaidan.

Citadel Tower: Missing Marines

Now you can finally speak with Admiral Kahoku. Go to Investigate and begin by asking “Problems” to uncover his issues and gain the “UNC: Missing Marines” Assignment.

Be sure to speak with Kahoku again and ask about “Banes” during that follow-up conversation. The guide calls this CRUCIAL, warning that failing to ask it before you wrap up the Assignment will cause you to miss out on two additional developments.

The Side Quests Ahead

From here, the guide shifts into a chain of Side Quests. The early portion of the list is tied together by a single central theme, while the last two entries are Morality Assignments placed here for convenience. Use this order as your route to keep everything aligned.

  • UNC: Missing Marines
  • UNC: Cerberus
  • UNC: Hades’ Dogs
  • UNC: Dead Scientists
  • Morality Assignments

If you want more Mass Effect support, the guide points you toward additional pages covering other systems and decision points, including changes for the Legendary Edition, how-to coverage, key choices and their consequences, romance options, walkthroughs, and side quests.
