Jujutsu Kaisen: Kenjaku’s Five Body Hosts, Ranked by Cursed Control

Kenjaku stands as one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most unsettling antagonists, and longtime viewers have watched his influence ripple through nearly every major outbreak of chaos in the series. Born roughly a thousand years ago, Kenjaku wields a distinctive cursed technique built around body-swapping, letting him take control of new hosts over and over. Across that long history, he’s accumulated multiple bodies—each with its own strengths—while still keeping a dangerous level of power and control.

5 Unknown Sorcerer

Because Kenjaku has occupied so many bodies, it’s reasonable to assume some of them were never identified on-screen. With him having lived since at least the Heian Era—and possibly earlier—there’s a strong likelihood he’s used a dozen different hosts or more.

One such unidentified vessel appears about 400 years before the present events, during the period when Kenjaku invited Kashimo into the Culling Game. At that time, Kenjaku is shown with the body of a male sorcerer sporting a ponytail. The host’s physique is described as notably large, but beyond that, details remain scarce. It’s unclear whether this was a well-known figure or just an ordinary person. Fans will likely need to wait for future information to learn what role—if any—this body ever played in Kenjaku’s larger plans.

4 Kaori Itadori

Among Kenjaku’s more prominent (and disturbing) hosts is Kaori Itadori. As the name makes clear, Kaori is Yuji’s mother. She dies at some point in the story, and Kenjaku then takes over her body to reconnect with Jin. Even though Jin senses something is off, Kaori’s presence—while Kenjaku is inside—prevents him from fully seeing the truth for what it is.

Eventually, Kaori, now inhabited by Kenjaku, gives birth to Yuji. That connection effectively locks Yuji’s personal story directly into Kenjaku’s long game, making the reveal feel even more shocking than it already sounds. After Yuji’s birth, Wasuke tells Jin that Kaori seems different than she was before, but Jin still chooses to ignore the warnings.

In terms of raw combat strength, Kaori isn’t presented as especially powerful. However, her cursed technique is a major asset: the Anti-Gravity System. As the name suggests, it can negate gravity entirely or, at minimum, weaken it drastically. Kenjaku gains access to that technique through her, adding another tool to his ever-growing collection of abilities.

3 Original Body

Kenjaku’s earliest vessel would naturally be his original body. Unfortunately for fans, that host has never been shown in the story, and it’s unlikely it ever will be, since Kenjaku is already dead by the time the series reaches its later arcs. In that original body, Kenjaku likely existed during the Heian Era, and possibly even before that timeframe.

What led to his death, or under what circumstances it occurred, is still unknown. The story also doesn’t clarify how Kenjaku first awakened his cursed technique, nor who his first host truly was. These pieces remain mysteries, and viewers are left hoping the author will eventually fill in the gaps through additional background details in future releases.

Gojo vs Sukuna ends with Gojo’s death, but Gege’s original intentions for the duel have since come to light.

2 Noritoshi Kamo

One of Kenjaku’s strongest hosts is Noritoshi Kamo. Fans know Noritoshi as a notorious sorcerer who carried out countless atrocities in the past, to the point that some claims describe him as the most heinous sorcerer of all time. What many people don’t realize is that Kenjaku was the one behind those horrors—using Noritoshi’s body to commit them.

At some point, Noritoshi dies, and Kenjaku takes over the body afterward. From there, the atrocities continue under Noritoshi’s name, tarnishing not only him, but also damaging the reputation of the Kamo Clan itself. It’s also widely known that Kenjaku used this power in creating the Death Paintings.

1 Suguru Geto

By far, the strongest body Kenjaku has used in JJK is that of Suguru Geto. After the Night Parade of 100 Demons, Geto is ultimately defeated by Yuta Okkotsu, and then Gojo finishes him off.

At the very end, Kenjaku activates his cursed technique and transfers into Geto’s body. He was chasing the benefits of Cursed Spirit Manipulation, and he gains that power. He also inherits Geto’s other abilities and memories as part of the takeover.

Eventually, Kenjaku dies while still in this body during the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. Yuta is the one who delivers the final blow and removes him for good. In other words, Kenjaku’s last vessel is Suguru Geto, and his plans collapse early when Yuta decapitates him.
