A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special is gearing up for its next chapter: the series has released its first promotional video for Season 2, setting an October debut on Crunchyroll. Before the full run begins, fans will get an early look with a special preview screening scheduled for October 3 at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo.

New theme songs for the next run

The opening theme will be performed by the rock band FLOW, with the track titled “Sorrow.” The ending theme is sung by krage, using the song “Everlasting.”

Story and setting: Desir rewinds the clock

The Season 2 arc continues the series’ premise: Desir Arman is among the last six surviving humans after the Dark Labyrinth becomes humanity’s greatest disaster. When Desir and his companions attempt to clear the final stage, they fail—and humanity is erased. Just as Desir believes his story is over, he wakes up thirteen years in the past.

Back in time to the period when he has just enrolled at Havrion, one of the best magic academies, Desir reunites with the friends he values most. With the Dark World emergency still looming, he has only three years to alter the past, assemble strong allies, and prevent catastrophe from becoming reality.

Returning cast and expanded production team

The anime’s cast includes Takuma Terashima as Desir Herman, Sayumi Suzushiro as Romantica Eru, Natsumi Fujiwara as Pram Schnaizer, and Asami Seto as Azrest Kingscrown.

On the production side, Taishi Kawaguchi returns as director at Arvo Animation. Takamitsu Kōno (known for The Beginning After the End) is credited with series composition and scripting, while Hiromi Katō handles character design. Daisuke Negishi returns as art director, and Kenta Higashiohji is set to provide the music.
