Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy brings Sophia to Game Pass
The featured release is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, available starting day one on August 27 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and cloud. The story is set 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem, placing players in the role of So phia, a young scavenger.
In this prequel era, Sophia sets out on a dangerous adventure tied to the mysterious Minotaur Island. It’s the latest entry from Asobo Studio, positioned as a bridge to the world fans know from the earlier A Plague Tale games.
What’s leaving Xbox Game Pass in late August 2026
Microsoft is also listing titles that will exit the service during the same period. The majority of the departures are set for August 31, which means players will want to finish up before the end of the month.
- Another Crab’s Treasure (leaves August 31)
- I Am Your Beast (leaves August 31)
- Neon Abyss (leaves August 31)
- One Lonely Outpost (leaves August 31)
- The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Remastered Edition (leaves August 31)
- NBA 2K26 (leaves September 6)
If you’re looking for alternatives among the August additions, Vapor World is highlighted as a 2D action adventure with a dark tone and soulslike sensibilities, featuring hand-drawn visuals. Another notable add is Aerial_Knight’s DropShot, a new entry from the creator of Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield, focused on fast action, parkour, and a stylized presentation.
