With late-June free-to-keep offers feeling a little light for some PC users, attention is already shifting toward what giveaways might show up in July.

This promotion isn’t tied to Steam’s 2026 free-to-keep calendar, but it is run by KeyXP, a giveaway-focused outfit that has been distributing Steam keys for a while. KeyXP operates under GameDiscoverCo, a PC gaming analysis company that frequently uses Steam keys to encourage players to answer surveys about games and consumer preferences.
During June, free games have been rolling out across multiple storefronts and services, including Steam, Epic Games Store, and Amazon Prime Gaming. The general message here is simple: keep an eye on every active giveaway while they’re live.

KeyXP says it’s giving away 10,000 Steam keys covering five cozy indie titles: Yono and the Celestial Elephants, Passing By: A Tailwind Journey, Reky, Spitkiss, and Away: Journey to the Unexpected. To take part, you’ll answer a set of questions about PC gaming. The keys are assigned at random, so participation doesn’t guarantee any particular featured game.
There’s also an account step to be aware of: you’ll need to sign in using both Steam and Discord credentials. KeyXP’s position is that it will only use publicly available information from your accounts, but it still requires the login process to participate.
One additional instruction included with the promo is that you should select the featured game with the higher OpenCritic score.
What’s included in the five featured games
- Yono and the Celestial Elephants – Released in 2017, this is an isometric adventure built around puzzle-solving, exploration, and light combat. You play as a cute elephant on a journey to uncover the secrets of its world, using special abilities along the way.
- Reky – An isometric abstract puzzle game with Monument Valley-style atmosphere. It includes more than 90 levels, each centered on logic-driven puzzles designed to stretch your attention for hours.
- Passing By: A Tailwind Journey – A 2D puzzle-platformer where a girl must deliver a package while moving through odd routes and obstacle-filled sections.
- Spitkiss – A bright 2D platformer that challenges you to get from point A to point B using obstacle-based puzzle layouts.
- AWAY: Journey to the Unexpected – An anime-inspired first-person roguelite that mixes gameplay with a lighter, more approachable story tone.
KeyXP also details how it plans to use responses: it combines publicly available account data with your survey answers to produce case studies and industry analysis. The company gives examples of how aggregated results might be used to identify what other PC strategy players (such as those who play Sid Meier’s Civilization) tend to enjoy more frequently, or which audience segments are more likely to focus on traditional reviews. It also explains that requesting Discord or Steam credentials is meant to reduce the chance of automated bots completing surveys.
How good is the deal, and what to watch next
Even though these are free keys, it’s worth noting that all five featured games are currently discounted heavily—roughly 80% to 90% off—with many landing under $2 USD. So the biggest savings might not always come from the giveaway itself, but free is still free, and the price drops can make the lineup even more appealing.
