SEGA Shares Character Profiles for Axel, Gena, B.D. Joe, and Gus in Crazy Taxi: World Tour

SEGA has shared character profiles for four classic drivers returning in Crazy Taxi: World Tour, including Axel, Gena, B.D. Joe, and Gus. The new details spotlight what each driver is like off the clock, tying their personalities to the chaotic, high-speed spirit the series is known for.

Axel, Gena, B.D. Joe, and Gus return in World Tour

Axel is described as a free-spirited adventurer who treats every ride as something exciting. Outside of work, he’s into surfing and skateboarding, and he also plays in a punk rock band as both bassist and vocalist. Even today, he looks up to the legendary taxi driver who originally inspired him to pursue the job.

Gena comes in as a car enthusiast who lives for speed and prefers the fast pace of city driving over traditional race tracks. She drives a taxi because she loves accelerating all day, and she invests nearly everything she earns into her vehicle.

B.D. Joe is framed as a natural entertainer who spreads smiles wherever he goes, with taxi driving treated as a one-of-a-kind performance. He enjoys busking and has a talent for turning almost anything he finds into a usable rhythm section. He also likes to do card tricks to keep people entertained.

Gus is positioned as cool, charismatic, and stylish, with an air of refined elegance. SEGA says he was the founder of the original Crazy Taxi style, and he hates losing—pushing himself to be the best at whatever he’s doing. When he’s not driving, he’s into card games including poker, baccarat, and blackjack.

A closed network test is planned for September. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is set to release in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC.
