Miss Sexy Anime 2026 Semifinals: Voting Shrinks to the Final Contenders
Anime-styled contest voting is entering its most decisive stretch, with semifinals and quarterfinal qualifiers now underway and the field shrinking fast. After an earlier phase of eliminations, the number of competitors left in the contest has dropped to roughly one-tenth of the original lineup, meaning the remaining participants are no longer just “in the running”—they’re framed as serious candidates for the overall win.
The next stage will determine who survives to the final brackets through a pair of distinct semifinal formats. For MISS SEXY ANIME, the contest uses a three-way challenge structure where each matchup is essentially a mini round-robin: three contestants go up against each other in a group of three, but the scoring method can change depending on how voters use the available options. Alongside the single-vote method, there is also a special “pair vote” option that has previously produced surprising outcomes. The remaining contenders will be selected as the top performer from each semifinal group, with ties resolved through additional “floating” tiebreakers.
Scoring for the MISS SEXY ANIME semifinal round is weighted. A single candidate vote carries a weight of 1. A pair of candidates is supported with a weight of 0.70 for each person in the pair. Voting for all three contestants at once uses an “positive abstentionist” approach with a weight of 0.40. There is also an “negative abstentionist” option that applies a -0.50 penalty for each contestant. After votes are summed, the score’s decimal portion is handled with rounding rules: it is rounded down when the decimal is between 1 and 5, and rounded up when it is between 6 and 9. Only one winner per group moves on to the final.
For MEGAMICLICK, the format is different but still designed to filter the field quickly. Competitors are grouped into challenges of three or four, with everyone facing everyone inside the same bracket segment. In contrast to the more flexible voting mechanics in the other contest, MEGAMICLICK uses only single voting, and only one participant per group advances to the quarterfinal stage.
In both contest lines, the event structure also includes specific community-facing rules aimed at shaping how the audience participates. Each contest segment has a featured testimonial: the outgoing champion and winner of the 2025 edition, Yuki Suou, is presented as the face of the proceedings. Additional contest mechanics apply as the voting progresses, including a “bonus waifu” effect where votes from the male audience carry additional weight, and a small threshold approach introduced later in the event to emphasize more committed supporters. The system is also described as allowing points to be earned through community actions like comments tied to news items or episodes, plus reviews.
Voting for the current set of polls is scheduled to remain open until 00:00 on 31/08, with results posted at the end of each poll window. The semifinals themselves will include at least the following MISS SEXY ANIME matchup, labeled as Semifinal Challenge 9, featuring Takane Takinamine from Please Put Them on, Takamine-san, Mariabelle from Yandere Dark Elf: L’elfa oscura un po’ ossessiva…, and Renako Amaori from Watanare.
Meanwhile, on the MEGAMICLICK side, the contest is in its second round, specifically Game 8, part of a broader set of qualifiers where 31 competitors remain spread across 8 matches to decide who reaches the quarterfinals.
