How to Obtain the Bug-Catching Net in Moonlight Peaks
As you wander through the purple-and-green glow of the evenings in Moonlight Peaks, you’ll spot plenty of bugs waiting to be caught. The good news is you can snag them using a Net, and you won’t be stuck without one for long. Here’s how to obtain the Net and what you can do with it once you have it.
You can receive a fishing rod for free by talking to Noel.
How to Get the Net in Moonlight Peaks
To obtain the Net, you’ll need to locate Death, who shows up after a few days during the Spring season. Death arrives dressed for the occasion, wearing his best Hawaiian shirt on top of his usual black robe, complete with a floral lei. Head over to Misty Shores, where a cutscene will trigger: you’ll meet Death in a graveyard, and then, a few days later, you’ll see a floating skull appear somewhere in town.
If you’re the type who’s interested in Death in a romantic way, you can actually date him. Use the full list of romanceable characters to see who else you can pursue.
As you move toward the floating skull, Death will come up to you and ask whether you’ve seen it. These floating skulls are actually lost souls called Soul Blobs. Death is eager to squeeze in some vacation time and avoid the responsibilities of the lost and damned, so he hands you the job of catching them.
Death will hand you a Net and then head off to enjoy the rest of his break. That means it’s now up to you to catch the skulls—and yes, the Net can also be used to capture bugs.
How to Use the Net in Moonlight Peaks
Use the Net to capture Soul Blobs for Death. As a reward, Death will give you unique items.
You can also use the same Net to catch bugs and other creepy crawlies.
There’s a lot to hunt down: 95 bugs and 100 Soul Blobs are waiting to be collected, so expect a true collecting grind.
Along with the resources you can sell from your crops or your barn, you can also sell the creatures you catch for different amounts of gold based on their quality and type, or donate them to the museum after it’s been opened. You can keep track of everything in your Grimoire.
