Prison Key Location in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (Claiming What’s Due)
To obtain the prison key during the “Claiming What’s due” quest in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, you’ll need to push through the hostile Torres estate and take out the warden. The warden is the one who directly holds the item you’re after, so your route ultimately revolves around reaching his position without drawing the entire compound into a fight.
Before you even reach the warden, start by finishing your conversation with Bonnet. Then head for Torres’ estate—expect trouble immediately, since the entrance is guarded by two soldiers. You can rush in with a double assassination to pass them quickly, but if you want a clean stealth run, you can instead slip inside via a gap in the wooden boards to the left of that entrance.
Once inside, the prison key is in the higher part of the estate. Travel to the upper section by using the stone staircase on the western side of the compound, where the warden’s area is set up around the courtyard. The Prison Key is held by Warden Sotelo, who can be found in the courtyard of the Torres estate.
When you arrive near the courtyard rooftops, you’ll spot the warden addressing the soldiers below. You have two practical approaches: you can drop in, assassinate the warden, and then fight through the courtyard after securing the key; or you can wait for his speech to finish and let him leave the courtyard area. If you want to avoid turning the mission into an all-out brawl, assassinate him after he’s alone—this reduces the chance of other guards catching you.
While you’re in the area, don’t forget to sync at the nearby Viewpoint. Doing so will unlock a fast travel point at the Torres’ estate in Havana, which makes returning for cleanup and future objectives much easier.
After you’ve taken the Prison Key for the “Claiming What’s Due” quest in AC Black Flag Resynced, head straight to the Sage’s prison cell, west of the courtyard. Open the cell once you reach it, and a cutscene will trigger—at that point, the quest concludes and you’ll be done with the mission.
