How to Complete City Town’s “Secret Ingredient” Quest in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s City Town quest line keeps rolling with "Secret Ingredient", continuing the Sashimi Spire chain and pushing players toward a new set of Nigiri ingredients and a final round of Spire upgrades.

Checklists

"Secret Ingredient" advances the Sashimi Spire Quest series in City Town. You can start it after finishing "The Best of City Town" and upgrading the Sashimi Spire a total of three times by feeding it the correct foods. The latest upgrade requirement is Onigiri x 10.

To begin, climb the Sashimi Spire and speak with Kirimi-chan at the top. From there, the task checklist is:

  • Find the Recipe Card in the Sewers
  • Make Nigiri
  • Enjoy Nigiri With Your Friends
  • Upgrade the Sashimi Spire
  • Quest/Upgrade Rewards

Find the Recipe Card in the Sewers

After talking to Kirimi-chan, she says the Imagination Cafe is "missing something" and asks you to follow her to the Sewers. Head to the Main Sewer Fast Travel Mailbox, then go left until you spot a large blue door.

Go through the door, then turn right. Kirimi-chan will be waiting near a tall ladder. Talk to her there, and she’ll tell you to "find what is missing."

From Kirimi-chan’s position, go right and walk down a small set of wire stairs. In the corner, tucked against the wall, is a Recipe Card. Pick it up to obtain the recipe for Nigiri!

Once you take the card, talk to Kirimi-chan again. She’s eager to test the new recipe and heads off to locate friends so you can share it.

Make Nigiri

Return to the Imagination Cafe and craft the following Nigiri:

  • Imaginary Fish Nigiri x 1
    • Rice x 1 — Usahana’s return gift
    • Imaginary Tuna — caught just south of the Lower Sewer Fast Travel Mailbox
  • Tart Nigiri with Soy Sauce x 1
    • Rice x 1 — Usahana’s return gift
    • Cherry x 1 OR Plum x 1 — picked at Keroppi’s Orchard
    • Soy Sauce x 1 — found on and around the Sashimi Spire
  • Sakura Nigiri x 1
    • Rice x 1 — Usahana’s return gift
    • Sakura x 1 — picked from trees in Merry Meadow

(Recipe components also list the same required items: Rice x 1 as Usahana’s return gift for each Nigiri, Imaginary Tuna from just south of the Lower Sewer Fast Travel Mailbox, Cherry x 1 OR Plum x 1 from Keroppi’s Orchard, Soy Sauce x 1 from around the Sashimi Spire, and Sakura x 1 from trees in Merry Meadow.)

Enjoy Nigiri With Your Friends

After making the Nigiri, talk to Pekkle, who is located outside his Music Shop. Hangyodon and My Sweet Piano also show up, and all three are ready to try the new recipe.

Distribute the Nigiri like this:

  • Give Pekkle the Imaginary Fish Nigiri
  • Give My Sweet Piano the Tart Nigiri with Soy Sauce
  • Give Hangyodon the Sakura Nigiri

Your friends enjoy the dishes, and they’re especially happy that the Imagination Cafe menu has expanded.

Upgrade the Sashimi Spire

Even though the "Secret Ingredient" quest wraps up after this section, you still need to upgrade the Sashimi Spire to unlock the next quest. This guide includes the requirements.

This upgrade asks for:

  • Boba Tea x 40
    • Tea Leaves x 40 — bought at Imagination Cafe PC using City Coins
    • Any Ingredient x 40 — recommended return gifts include Strawberries, Tofu, or Candy Clouds

To be clear, the ingredient breakdown again totals Tea Leaves x 40 purchased at Imagination Cafe PC with City Coins, plus Any Ingredient x 40 using easy return gifts such as Strawberries, Tofu, or Candy Clouds.

The reward this time is 2 Kirimi-chan Wallpaper and 2 Kirimi-chan Flooring. You can buy extra copies of these at Badtz-Maru’s Arcade. On top of that, the Spire will grow taller, and new Imaginary ingredients will be discoverable around City Town.

Quest / Upgrade Rewards

  • Nigiri Recipe
  • Customers can order Nigiri at Imagination Cafe
  • Kirimi-chan Flooring x 2
  • Kirimi-chan Wallpaper x 2
  • Wasabi harvestable on the Sashimi Spire
