Fate/Strange Fake Season Confirmed in 2027 Anime Updates Roundup
Anime-adjacent gaming fans have been tracking a familiar pattern: when light novel adaptations start landing, game communities tend to spike in discussion about power systems, “weak-to-strong” progression, and cross-media fandom. This week brings multiple 2027 anime announcements—plus a confirmation that Fate/strange Fake is moving into a new season—giving players more to watch as they chase the next wave of series-inspired communities.
Fate/strange Fake gets a new season (and it leans harder into the “rogue Holy Grail War” premise)
Aniplex confirmed during an Anime NYC panel that Fate/strange Fake will receive a new animated season. The series adapts the light novel written by Ryōgo Narita with illustrations by Shizukii Mori.
The story setting places the conflict roughly seventy years after the Third Holy Grail War in Fuyuki. A separate mage organization, distinct from the London association and operating from America, attempts to stage its own Holy Grail War by stealing information from the English side. Their plan is executed in the city of Snowfield, but the ritual can’t be replicated fully—most notably because the Saber-class servant is missing, while the other classes manifest as distinctly “strange” due to an unusual interpretation of what a “hero” is supposed to be.
The first season already aired this year and is available via streaming on Crunchyroll.
- What’s new: Aniplex confirmed another animated season for Fate/strange Fake.
- Why fans care: The franchise’s “broken ritual” setup suggests more irregular class dynamics going forward.
- Where to start: The first season is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
A 2027 original TV anime: Maiden Blood brings a stacked production team and a “blood currency” apocalypse
Pony Canyon revealed that Seiji Kishi—known for credits including Persona 4 The Animation, Kengan Ashura, and Classroom of the Elite—will direct an original television anime titled Maiden Blood, with a debut planned for 2027.
International distribution details will be announced later.
The premise is built around a world after an Armageddon-like event: a malicious divinity sacrifices eight billion people, leaving the survivors reduced to the deity’s “toys.” With the world now lacking sunlight and with nature destabilized, human blood becomes the only resource acting as currency, fuel, and a weapon. To fight back, mages create a forbidden ritual that turns the life force of girls into blades for exterminating demons—giving rise to “Blood Warriors,” living weapons formed through the sacrifice of their own humanity.
The plot follows two sisters with tightly bound destinies. Epica is portrayed as the strongest fighter but without a soul, while Eva has been paralyzed since birth. Eva’s blood is described as the sole key capable of awakening Epica’s dormant immense power. Together, they become humanity’s final bulwark against demonic forces and wage a revenge war against the monsters that defiled the Earth.
The announced cast includes Iori Saeki as Eva and Yukari Anzai as Epica.
Staff and music: the kind of lineup that shapes “watchability” for anime-driven communities
Keiji Kishi directs the anime at Polygon Pictures. Makoto Uezu supervises series scripts, while LAM is credited as the original character designer. Music will be composed by Keiichi Okabe, Kuniyuki Takahashi, and Taichi Jōraku. Additional staff includes Satoki Iida as sound director, with Pony Canyon handling music production alongside MONACA.
More 2027 anime announcements: new adaptations with “OP” power paths and dark fantasy stakes
REMOW shared a new visual for Mukuware Nakatta Murabito A, Kizoku ni Hirowarete Dekiaisareru Ue ni, Jitsu wa Motteita Densetsu-kyuu no Kami Skill mo Kakusei shita, confirming the anime adaptation will debut in 2027. The series is based on a light novel by Nazuna Miki (My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1).
It was also announced that Yoshihiro Akase will join the anime staff as sound director.
The story centers on Matteo, who was expected to live as a normal village resident but is reborn as the nephew of an imperial aristocrat, Lawrence. With massive magic powers, Matteo quickly hatches a dragon egg and successfully tames the dragon. When his magical abilities are measured, he’s found to possess the strongest magic power ever recorded. He learns magic rapidly, revives ancient spells, and can extract the world’s most powerful sword with ease—while also earning the personal approval of the emperor, who, as Matteo will discover, is keeping a secret.
The cast includes Maaya Uchida as Matteo, Yuki Yomichi as Ishtar, Sayako Tōjō as Hecate, and Mei Igarashi as Metis.
Direction is handled by Masahiko Komino for l-a-unch・BOX, with Tsutomu Kaneko supervising series composition and Junko Yamanaka credited for character design. Miki began posting the story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2020, with Shueisha beginning publication in light novel volume form the following year. Suzume Kumo illustrated a manga adaptation that started in December 2022 on Dash X Comic.
Two more 2027 TV anime: a wall-clipping “first clear” fantasy and a “weakest player” climb
The official site for the television anime adaptation of Saijakuna Boku wa “Kabenuke Bug” de Nariagaru: Kabe o Surinuketara, Shokai Clear Hōshū o Mugen Kaishū Dekimashita! announced a 2027 debut. The series is adapted from a novel by Nikita Kitagawa and Meto Sasame, and the announcement included an initial visual, the main cast, and staff details.
The story follows Henry, who decides to become an adventurer to earn enough money for his sick sister. His ability is judged useless, and even after he finally manages to join a party, he’s quickly kicked out. After desperation pushes him to attempt a dungeon alone, he discovers a shocking detail: under certain conditions, his ability lets him slip through walls and reach the reward room directly, bypassing the final boss. That “shortcut” becomes his path to finally getting stronger.
Riko Aono stars as Anri, and Momoka Terasawa plays Elelet. Haruki Kasugamori directs for Durandal and Tengu Kobou, with Hiroshi Hosokawa supervising scripts. Character design is credited to Hiroshi Miyamoto and Sumakidori.
Kasugamori also has prior credits including Dragon Goes House-Hunting and Tono to Inu. The web novel began in February 2021 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō; the light novel version began in June 2022 with illustrations by Meto Sasame and currently has two volumes. A manga adaptation by Yui Hata started on Kodansha’s Shōnen Magazine R in July 2022, moving to Magazine Pocket in January 2023.
Why these 2027 lineups matter for player communities
Across these announcements, the shared through-line isn’t just release timing—it’s the kind of progression logic that overlaps with games: rituals with missing components, blood-based “systems” that function like resources, and abilities that reshape how you navigate a dungeon (including bypassing the final boss via wall clipping). For anime viewers who also play, these premises tend to translate into immediate community talk around mechanics, builds, and “how broken is too broken” power scaling.
