Genshin Impact: How to Reach Outer Space After the Moon Quest

You can end up exploring outer space in Genshin Impact once you’ve finished the “When We Look Up at the Moon” World Quest and reached the moon as part of the Pioneers questline. After that point, return to the Space Lifeform Capture Station by teleporting there, then make your way out into the open area. This space station sits above the Lunar Highlands, so your route starts from that elevated location.

From there, you’ll want to work through the moon adventure in the Pioneers quest. The goal is to follow the right sequence to clear every puzzle and finish the quest successfully, since the path to the station and beyond is tied to solving its challenges in order.

How To Go To Space In Genshin Impact

To reach space in Genshin Impact, you’ll need to complete these steps:

  • Finish the “When We Look Up at the Moon” World Quest.
  • Teleport to the Space Lifeform Capture Station teleport waypoint.
  • Move east past the closed door.

While you’re moving through the area, don’t skip the “Lost Flower of Ancient Times,” since picking it up is what unlocks the “Walking with Sweet Flowers” Achievement in Genshin Impact. Along the way, also grab the chest and the Lunoculus so you don’t have to backtrack later.

Next, follow the route to open space:

  • Get to the middle platform.
  • Float left above the Ancient Moon Pearl (the sphere), aiming toward the Ancient Moon Pearl Power Station platform.
  • Move right and head outside the Space Lifeform Capture Station.
  • Go toward the Ancient Moon Pearl Launcher.
  • Activate it to throw the Moon Pearl into the Space Station.
  • Return inside and collect the chest that spawns along your path.
  • Interact with the Gravimeter to activate it.
  • Open the Precious chest.
  • Go beneath the platform and pick up three additional chests.
  • Go back up and open the northern door.
  • Move down the hallway and pass by the warning signs.
  • Use the Shoaling Kuuhenki to travel quickly.
  • Pause at the Storm Occlusion Field to stop the Archaeolume Storm Incapacitation exhaustion meter from filling up.

When you reach the final Storm Occlusion Field, it will be flickering, and it won’t allow you to fully recover all of your lost exhaustion. To deal with that, shoot Archaeolume Ripples at the Pioneer Source Structure next to it and trigger an explosion. After that, float over to the Moongazer ship using the same general approach and traversal method.

Once you arrive, flip on the Moongazer teleportation waypoint. With that enabled, you can come back and go out into space whenever you want.

Enter the Moongazer ship beside the area and collect the two Exquisite chests and the one Precious chest in Genshin Impact. You can also interact with the glowing sphere inside to read a note.

After completing all of the above, you’ll be able to float freely in space, traveling between the planet and the moon. Just keep in mind that the Archaeolume Storm Incapacitation will rise quickly when you’re out in the open while flying, so you’ll want to rely on the Storm Occlusion Fields on the Moongazer ship to restore your power at intervals.
