Resident Evil 4 Remake Wesker Actor Removed From Convention After Abuse Claims
Craig Burnatowski has been accused of physically and emotionally abusing a former partner. After those claims surfaced, a second individual also alleged that Burnatowski has abusive conduct toward fans, describing the behavior as “inappropriate.”
In response, the actor—known to many for playing Wesker/Zeno in Resident Evil 4 Remake and Requiem—had an appearance at an upcoming convention removed. He was initially scheduled to attend Fantasy & Magic Con alongside other Resident Evil performers, but organizers have now said he will not be participating as a guest in any role.
Wesker’s Actor In Resident Evil 4 Remake And Requiem Has Been Accused Of Abuse
Fantasy & Magic Con confirmed the situation earlier today, following prior remarks that they would investigate the allegations that were posted online.
In a statement, the organizers said, “After reviewing the reports that have recently emerged in the public domain, we have concluded that this is the most appropriate course of action under the current circumstances.” They added, “We are committed to ensuring that Fantasy & Magic Con remains an event where all attendees, guests, and partners can feel comfortable and safe.”
The earliest person to share the accusations, Monica, says she dated Burnatowski for nearly a year. She described him as “mentally, emotionally abusive and manipulative.” Earlier today, she further claimed that physical abuse occurred during intimacy. She also alleged that a separate injury caused her to bleed long after the incident, and that she needed to see a doctor. Monica says it’s possible she may require surgery as a result of what happened.
Members of the Resident Evil community have voiced support for Monica. Another person has claimed that Burnatowski acted inappropriately with fans on social media, including sending messages while intoxicated.
Burnatowski’s agency has been contacted for comment.
