Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Unlock Gloommeadow and Start Chapter 4
In “Interlude: The Misplaced Honey,” you shattered the Corrupted Honey Wall and unlocked Gloommeadow, the latest biome inside Honeyglow Woods for Disney Dreamlight Valley. The next quest, “Chapter 4: A Tail Tale,” introduces Eeyore, who needs help dealing with a problem that’s as stubborn as it is odd.
Checklists
During “Interlude: The Misplaced Honey,” you destroyed the Corrupted Honey Wall and gained entry to Gloommeadow, a new area inside Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Honeyglow Woods. In the following quest, “Chapter 4: A Tail Tale,” you’ll meet Eeyore and assist the grumpy donkey with a genuinely tricky situation.
Investigate The Dry Riverbed
From the entrance to Gloommeadow, head to the right and track the right-hand edge of the biome past the Crafting Station, Cooking Station, and a large honey tree. Right after that big honey tree, you’ll spot Eeyore, looking miserable as always—so talk to him.
Eeyore explains that his tail has gone missing again. Pooh suggests checking the dried-up riverbed to see whether it fell off there.
The riverbed you need is in the middle of Gloommeadow. Starting from where Eeyore is, head south along the river until it dries up just beyond the wooden gazebo, where logs form a large barrier stopping the water’s flow.
Talk to Eeyore again—he follows you to the dried riverbed and comments on the debris blocking the river. He thinks Hedgehog Critters from Honeyglow Woods tried to set up a home, but ended up blocking the river by mistake. (He also mentions his own house fell down, but you’ll handle that later.)
Build A Hedgehog Companion Home
Winnie the Pooh recommends making a proper place for the hedgehogs so they don’t need to block the river anymore. To do that, gather the materials listed below.
Quick facts
- Hardwood x 6 — harvested near trees in the Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, and Pixie Acres
- Juniper Berry x 5 — picked from bushes in Gloommeadow
- Soft Limestone x 6 — mined from Rock Spots in Drowsybloom Acre or Gloommeadow
- White & Pink Foxglove — picked in any Honeyglow Woods biome
After you collect everything, craft the Hedgehog Companion Home at any Crafting Station. You can find one near your house in Drowsybloom Acre and another along the right wall of Gloommeadow.
Now open Furniture Mode and place the Hedgehog Companion Home anywhere in Gloommeadow.
Feed a Hedgehog
Pooh wants you to treat the hedgehogs to a snack so they’ll feel at ease in their new setup. Locate a hedgehog—either the Classic Hedgehog (found in Drowsybloom Acre) or the Green Hedgehog (found in Gloommeadow)—and feed it one of the following items:
- Any Fruit
- Golden Honey — harvested from the Busy Bees’ House
Hedgehogs are shy and curl into themselves when you get close. Wait until they uncurl, then approach and feed them.
Break Apart The Debris
Talk to Eeyore, who’s hanging around beside the wall of debris in Gloommeadow. Since the hedgehogs now have a proper home, he says you can safely destroy the original blockage.
Use your Royal Pickaxe to fully break down the debris wall blocking the river. A cutscene triggers, and you’ll see debris—like a spring and a clock—float down the newly cleared water.
Help Eeyore Find A New Tail
Talk to Eeyore about the floating debris you just saw. Since you didn’t find his original tail, you suggest that either of the objects could work as a substitute.
Using your Royal Fishing Rod, fish the two items out of the river. Their locations are:
- Cuckoo Clock Tail — just to the right of the cobblestone bridge in Gloommeadow (between the cobblestone bridge and the wooden bridge, on the river side facing Drowsybloom Acre)
- Steel Spring Tail — just to the left of the wooden bridge in Gloommeadow (between the cobblestone bridge and the wooden bridge, but closer to the wooden one). It sits in the middle of the river and can be fished from either bank.
Bring the Cuckoo Clock Tail to Eeyore. He can’t see how it looks on him, so take a picture of Eeyore wearing his new tail and then show it to him. He isn’t convinced, so he decides to try the Steel Spring Tail as well.
Take another picture, this time with Eeyore wearing the Steel Spring Tail. Then talk to Pooh about it. Eeyore dislikes the spring idea, and Pooh reveals that he has found another possible “substitail” he believes is perfect.
Follow Winnie the Pooh to a spot near the southern edge of Gloommeadow, south of the cobblestone bridge. Talk to Pooh there—he points out something buried in the ground.
Dig up the object using your Royal Shovel, and it turns out to be an Umbrella Tail!
Bring the Umbrella Tail to Eeyore. He’ll likely be near the wooden gazebo in the center of Gloommeadow. As before, you’ll need to take a picture of Eeyore wearing the new tail.
This time, when you speak to Eeyore, he approves of the Umbrella Tail and agrees it should work—at least until he can retrieve his original tail.
Play Pooh Sticks
Pooh decides to celebrate Eeyore getting a new tail with a round of Pooh Sticks, a game he invented. Follow Pooh to the wooden bridge in the center of Gloommeadow, then interact with the sign on the bridge to start a match.
Pooh Sticks is very straightforward: you and two opponents (in this case, Pooh and Eeyore) drop items into the river and watch them drift downstream. Your objective is to have your item reach the goal first. Once you drop your item, you can’t affect it—just wait and watch.
For the first match, you’ll use a piece of Softwood. After this quest is over, you can challenge other villagers to more rounds and try floating different objects.
Rescue Eeyore’s Tail
Your Pooh Sticks match causes Eeyore’s Tail to float out from underneath the bridge, where it apparently got stuck.
The tail is just to the right of the wooden bridge, near the wall of fog that blocks you from progressing into the next biome. You can reach it from either side of the river.
Once you’ve fished the tail out, give it to Eeyore. He’s pleased to have his original tail back, and the quest ends there. As a bonus, Pooh Sticks becomes available as a mini-game you can play whenever you want.
