Vampster Location Guide for Moonlight Peaks (PS5)

While wandering Moonlight Peaks’ town, you’ll likely stumble across a pack of odd little critters with bright red eyes tucked into awkward corners. They’re called Vampsters—a vampire-themed hamster, somehow—and once you’ve spotted one, the next question is what you’re supposed to do with it. This Vampster Location guide explains how to unlock Vampster hunting and lists every Vampster location in Moonlight Peaks that’s been found so far.

Town Vampster Locations

In the Town area, there are 53 Vampsters in total. Below is the information on where they are, including map screenshots.

This Vampster has a log sitting on its head. You can locate it behind the fallen log in the far-left portion of the Cave of Echoes.

How to Unlock Vampsters (and Where the Cave Starts)

To unlock Vampster hunting, complete the A Bridge Too Far questline, then head into the Cave of Echoes located in the southwest corner of Misty Shores.

You can begin spotting and picking up Vampsters as soon as you start exploring Moonlight Peaks. That said, you won’t be able to do anything meaningful with them until Misty Shores is unlocked.

If you’ve noticed a whole chunk of land to the southeast of your farm sealed off by a violent storm, that’s the area you need to reach. Getting into Misty Shores requires completing the entire A Bridge Too Far storyline—a longer quest chain that includes: paying off Orlock’s bar debt, getting him to apologize to Fiona, and gathering the other town witches to banish the bridge curse.

After A Bridge Too Far is finished, enter Misty Shores and make your way toward the beach in the southwest corner. That’s where you’ll find the entrance to the Cave of Echoes. On your first visit, you’ll trigger a cutscene featuring Alina, who explains how to find Vampsters and “collect them.”

How to Collect Vampsters

Collecting Vampsters isn’t just a simple pickup-and-go. Once you locate a Vampster, pick it up and carry it all the way to the Cave of Echoes in southwest Misty Shores. Walk up to the small wooden arch in the wall north of the entrance, then drop the Vampster there. It will scamper inside automatically, and the Vampster will be added to your collection—available to view in your “spell book” menu.
