GTA Online Kortz Center Heist Hits July 14—Easter Eggs Already Found

GTA Online’s next major heist update, The Kortz Center Heist, is set to land next week—and players have already begun cataloging a few Rockstar-style Easter eggs connected to it.

Release date and what you’ll do in The Kortz Center Heist

Rockstar has confirmed the update will be playable starting July 14. The premise puts crews in a position to target the Kort Center, a high-profile art museum that’s framed as one of the update’s big-ticket robberies.

To get things moving, mansion owners will use a brand-new art studio as a preparation hub. From there, they’ll run through a sequence of setup missions before the actual heist, with the final job offering the usual GTA Online choice: go in loudly or attempt a quieter approach.

As always, stealth isn’t just for style. Completing the heist without triggering alarms or raising suspicion is rewarded with a notably larger payout compared to riskier runs.

Quick facts

  • Update name: The Kortz Center Heist
  • Availability: July 14
  • Target: Kort Center art museum
  • Preparation: A new art studio tied to mansion ownership
  • Structure: Setup missions leading into a heist finale
  • Approach options: Loud or quiet
  • Reward incentive: Finishing without raising suspicions grants more money

Paintings to steal—and weekly additions tied to Rockstar games

Beyond the heist itself, the update also brings a new way to spend your loot: you’ll be able to keep stolen paintings and display them in your mansion. Rockstar plans to add fresh paintings on a weekly cadence, which should give players a reason to revisit the content instead of moving on after a single run.

These aren’t being treated as generic art assets, either. Several of the pieces appear to reference other Rockstar games, and community sleuths have pointed to specific examples. One painting has drawn attention for resembling the scene of Roman’s death from GTA 4.

Other entries include a Red Dead-flavored painting, plus one artwork that shows a crowd filled with recognizable Rockstar characters — including CJ from San Andreas and Dutch from Red Dead.

New rides and the likely roadmap for GTA Online

Like most major GTA Online drops, The Kortz Center Heist is also expected to introduce fresh vehicles for players to purchase with in-game money earned during crimes. More details on the cars are being held for next week, but the message is clear: start building your crew, secure a mansion, and prepare to invest time and resources into the setup missions.

The timing also raises bigger questions. This update could end up being the final large one for GTA Online before GTA 6 arrives, since GTA Online’s history shows major updates hitting in summer and December while GTA 6 is scheduled for November. There’s also the possibility Rockstar continues supporting GTA Online after launch, even though GTA 6 hasn’t started advertising any online component yet.

If an online mode is indeed planned for GTA 6, it may not arrive until early next year. For now, the future of GTA Online carries plenty of uncertainty, but The Kortz Center Heist gives players something concrete to focus on immediately.
