“The Gold Locket” is a local event quest in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced that you can pick up when you return to Havana after progressing through a couple of story missions. Edward finds a woman mourning near the docks, and she asks him to track down whatever information he can about her husband—who sailed with the Spanish treasure fleet. The key detail is that her husband wore a gold locket on a chain around his neck, and returning that exact item to her is what completes the quest and triggers the reward.
New Quest Setup: When “The Gold Locket” Becomes Available
Ubisoft has shared additional information about how missions, updated levels, and hideout improvements work in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and “The Gold Locket” is part of that broader reshuffling of local content you’ll encounter as you revisit familiar places.
To begin the Gold Locket local event in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, you’ll need to:
- Finish Sequence 2 and unlock the Jackdaw (ship) first.
- Proceed into Sequence 3 and complete the quest titled “Prize and Plunder” so “The Gold Locket” becomes available.
- Then go to the eastern docks of Havana at the spot marked in the guide location (223,583).
You won’t spot the local event from a distance—getting close to the docks is required. As you approach, you’ll see a woman openly grieving; speak with her to launch the Gold Locket quest in AC4 Black Flag Resynced.
Location Guide: Getting the Gold Locket in Havana’s Dry Tortuga
After you accept “The Gold Locket,” head toward the northeastern area of Havana and make your way to an unmarked island in the Dry Tortuga known as Florida (coordinates: 381,797). Even though the island’s name won’t display, you’ll still have access to the icon (a palm tree) that helps you identify the correct area without prior visits.
Next, synchronize at the Viewpoint on the Florida island. Doing so reveals the layout of activities and secrets in the area.
Where the Loot Is Hidden
Once you’ve synchronized, you can locate a specific underwater find:
- Look for an underwater chest in the northwestern part of Florida. After diving down, open the chest to claim the Gold Locket item.
- There’s another underwater chest nearby that can be looted for a substantial amount of Reals (in-game money).
Turning It In: Reward for Completing the Quest
With the Gold Locket in hand, fast travel back to Havana and speak with the mourning woman near the docks. She will express her relief that Edward has helped provide closure, and players will receive 200 Reals as the reward for finishing the Gold Locket quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
