How to Start A Piece of the Pie
Once you arrive in New Camp, go talk to Lares.
Lares’ hut is in the Free Mine. You’ll find it beyond the rice fields—head up the hill, then cross over the lake dam.
When you look at the Free Mine from the entrance, Lares’ hut sits downhill to the left.
Go left at the first gap between the huts, then walk toward the pair of guards. Tell them you’re there to see Lares.
Higher up the stairs, you’ll meet Lares’ guard. You need to convince him to let you pass, either by using Mordrag’s Ring or through the Rice Lord’s blessing.
After you speak with Lares, if you ask to join the camp, he’ll request help ripping off a local Swamp Camper. That action starts the A Piece of the Pie quest.
Where to Find Baal Isidro

Next, head back outside and enter the lakeside tavern. You’ll need to pay the door guard 100 Nuggets to get in.
Inside, talk to Baal Isidro. He’s struggling to get motivated to do his job of selling more Swampweed.
How to Convince Baal Isidro to Let You Help
You can offer assistance, but he won’t agree to let you help unless you first tell him that Baal Kagan is trying to undermine him.
To learn that information, you’ll need to return to the Free Mine. From the entrance, you can spot a camp fire with a small group of chairs and people nearby.
Walk down the hill and look around—Baal Kagan should be around there. Speak to him about how things are going, and eventually he should complain that Baal Isidro is a nuisance because he isn’t doing his job. Once you hear Kagan say this, you can go back to Isidro.
When you’re with Isidro, tell him that Kagan is trying to undermine him. At that point, he’ll be far more willing to let you help. You may also need to provide him a beer, which you can purchase from Silas at the bar.
After that, Isidro will agree to let you sell his Swampweed in exchange for half the profit. This also starts the The Herb Merchant quest.
Where to Sell Baal Isidro’s Swampweed
- In-game objective: “Baal Isidro is waiting for his share.”
Isidro says he doesn’t know who to ask to sell his goods, but he clearly hasn’t checked his options. Inside the tavern, you’ll find a trader named Cipher, and he specifically prefers bulk purchases.
Locate Cipher in the tavern, sell him the Swampweed, and you’ll immediately gain 400 more Ore Nuggets.
Decide What to Do With Baal Isidro’s Nuggets
If you’re only doing A Piece of the Pie, you can take the money and return to Lares right away to finish the quest. That will complete it immediately—but there’s also a method to finish both quests while earning a solid amount of Experience Points.
If you hand Isidro his portion of the 400 Nuggets, you’ll keep 200 Nuggets for yourself. You’ll also complete The Herb Merchant, which awards 500 Experience Points on the spot. The downside is that you’ll still need to locate the remaining 200 Nuggets to bring to Lares.
If you choose to trade with Cipher, his stock includes plenty of Nuggets, so you can sell additional items without draining his funds too quickly. You can sell extra equipment parts, plants, and potions to reach another 200 Nuggets. Once you have that extra amount, go back to Lares and pay him.
Pay Lares
- In-game objective: “I should take the 400 Ore Nuggets to Lares.”
No matter how you ended up with the 400 Nuggets, return to Lares and deliver them. Doing so completes the quest, rewards you with 500 Experience Points, and helps progress the Admission to the New Camp quest.
