PS Plus Classic Adds Dino Crisis 2 and More PS1/PS2 Classics From Sony

A fresh PlayStation announcement teased more classic titles coming to PS Plus Classic, with Capcom’s PS1-era survival horror Dino Crisis 2 among the first confirmed additions. Sony says these games will be rolled out over the coming months, alongside other retro picks and at least one new release day addition tied to its full version.

What’s joining PS Plus Classic (Premium tier)

Sony’s latest presentation confirmed that PS Plus Classic will be expanded with three older games, with Dino Crisis 2 highlighted as a major fan request. The service tier here is the Premium version of PS Plus, and Sony did not provide exact dates for when each title will switch on.

  • Dino Crisis 2
  • Mega Man X: Command Mission
  • Ratchet & Clank (2002)

Instead of specifying a calendar, the company only stated that the games will be introduced to PS Plus Classic “in the next few months.”

Why Ratchet & Clank (2002) stands out

Among the retro lineup, Ratchet & Clank (2002) is receiving extra attention due to its role in kicking off the long-running series. The original release was on PS2, and it later returned as part of The Ratchet & Clank Trilogy on PS3 and PS Vita in 2012.

For modern players, the PS3 version is currently available through streaming as part of PS Plus Premium. The franchise’s recent entry—Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart from 2021—was also noted as being warmly received by players.

Another addition: Mycopunk coming to PS Plus

Separate from the classic catalog update, Sony also revealed that Mycopunk—an FPS with a co-op focus and a distinctive visual style—will be added to the PS Plus lineup soon. The title is currently available in Early Access on Steam, and the PS Plus arrival is planned alongside the release of the full version, though the exact debut date hasn’t been announced yet.

What to watch next

With Sony only committing to “the next few months” for the PS Plus Classic additions, the immediate question is timing: when Dino Crisis 2, Mega Man X: Command Mission, and Ratchet & Clank (2002) will each become playable for subscribers. On the newer side, keep an eye on Mycopunk for its full-version launch date, since that’s when its PS Plus inclusion is expected to land.
