The Blood of Dawnwalker Gets Confirmed 60 FPS Mode on Consoles via Day-One Patch
Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco have shared fresh console gameplay footage for The Blood of Dawnwalker, and—more importantly for performance-focused players—confirmed a new 60 fps option that will land on multiple platforms via a day-one patch. That confirmation comes after the team acknowledged ongoing testing for the performance mode before it could be formally promised.
Fresh console footage and the performance roadmap
New gameplay images shown for consoles are also being used to clarify what players can expect at launch. In response to public discussion around framerate targets, Rebel Wolves’ official account announced that a 60 fps performance mode is planned for day one.
- Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco published additional gameplay footage for The Blood of Dawnwalker on consoles, highlighting that performance limits exist at release.
- After the initial coverage was published, Rebel Wolves addressed the debate on X, stating it would be receiving a 60 fps performance mode for PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X.
- The studio said the mode would be delivered at launch through a day-one patch, framing the previous uncertainty as an in-progress development/testing phase.
- Rebel Wolves also outlined the console graphics targets: on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, there will be two modes—one targeting 30 fps in dynamic 4K (Quality) and another targeting 40 fps in dynamic 4K (Balanced).
- For PlayStation 5 Pro, the same framerate and resolution targets are said to remain, with “enhanced visual quality” applied to both modes based on the newly released video.
Notably, the studio did not list a 60 fps configuration as part of the launch modes in the same framing as the Quality and Balanced options, making the day-one patch the key piece of information for players specifically looking for higher refresh rates.
PC specs: 60 fps depends heavily on hardware
While consoles are now seeing clearer messaging around performance options, the PC version is where Rebel Wolves’ expected framerate results appear most demanding. The studio previously shared a breakdown tied to PC profiles, including RAM, VRAM, and GPU targets.
- Minimum settings (low quality), aiming for 1080p at 30 fps: 16 GB RAM, 6 GB VRAM, and a Nvidia RTX 1060.
- High settings targeting 60 fps at 1440p: an Nvidia RTX 4060 or RX 7600-XT.
- Ultra settings targeting 4K at 60 fps: an Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti, paired with 16 GB RAM and 12 GB VRAM.
