Persona 5 Trading Cards Announced for the Series’ 30th Anniversary
Sega and Atlus are pulling out all the stops for the Persona series’ 30th anniversary. Late last month, a live-action Persona series for Netflix was confirmed, with Picard writer Christopher Monfette attached. Then, during the Summer Game Fest Xbox Games Showcase, the publisher shared a release date for Persona 4 Revival and also formally revealed Persona 6.
Key takeaways
- A live-action Persona Netflix series is in the works, written by Christopher Monfette (Picard).
- Persona 4 Revival received a release date during the Summer Game Fest Xbox Games Showcase.
- Atlus also officially unveiled Persona 6 in that same showcase.

Another New Persona 5 Range Of Trading Cards Has Just Been Announced
Persona 5 has already seen collectible card releases from two different brands: one line from Weiss Schwarz and another from Kayou, which is similar in spirit to the KPop Demon Hunters cards that many collectors have been opening lately. Now, Cardsmiths is adding a third set to the mix with a fresh Persona 5 trading card range.
The new product is called the Persona 5 Royal Series 1 Trading Cards, and it’s positioned as a “premium trading card experience” focused on the Phantom Thieves. Cardsmiths is promising rare pulls, bold visuals, and collectible “Treasures” across the set. Each booster pack will be sleeved and include 10 cards, with character highlights such as Ryuji, Ann, Arsene, and Futaba.
If you’re the type who likes chasing specific odds, the set will include multiple rarity tiers, such as:
- Alter Ego Cards
- Serial-Numbered Persona Refractor Cards
- Phantom Refractor Cards
- Tarot Cards
- Collector Parallel Rainbow Holofoil Cards
Cardsmiths isn’t limiting itself to Atlus properties, either. Alongside Persona, it also has card lines planned for Mega Man, Street Fighter, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, plus—oddly enough—ranges involving currencies. For collectors specifically interested in the Persona set, the Persona collectible cards can be preordered using the link mentioned in the announcement.
Why Persona 5 Is Getting So Much Attention
With Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal representing Atlus’ best-selling games of all time—nearing 12 million total units sold—this decision makes sense. Atlus is using the franchise’s biggest hit as a centerpiece for its 30th anniversary celebrations. For fans who enjoy both Persona and trading card culture, the new Cardsmiths release is being framed as an exciting new way to collect and hunt rare items from the series.
