ZOOPUNK Gets a Gamescom 2026 Trailer From TiGames—No Release Date Yet
TiGames has released a new trailer for ZOOPUNK, a 3D action-adventure game set decades before F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch. The studio says the project will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, though no release date has been announced yet.
A prequel to Animal Punk’s Torch City revolution
ZOOPUNK expands the “Animal Punk” universe by moving to the turbulent origins of Torch City, a metropolis on the verge of major change. Players who know F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch are expected to recognize returning elements while also encountering new story beats and details as the Torch City saga takes its first steps.
The game is also notable for debuting during the Xbox Partner Preview Showcase, where ZOOPUNK was among the limited number of titles to appear at the event. The newly shared extended trailer focuses on the story arc, offers an early look at gameplay, and introduces additional characters.
The First Torch War and a world reshaped by Fire Seed energy
Set long before the events of F.I.S.T., ZOOPUNK centers on the start of the First Torch War. According to the trailer’s story overview, the discovery of Fire Seed energy sparks an era of rapid technological progress—and escalating, catastrophic conflict.
As the power grows harder to control, mechanical remains begin to awaken into self-aware war machines. Initially built to harness energy, these machines reportedly adopt the violence of their creators and turn on the animals, establishing a mechanical empire driven by domination. With Torch City thrown into chaos, rival animal factions are forced to band together to resist the threat.
At the heart of the conflict is the theme of the soul. The trailer frames the disagreement as a fundamental difference in interpretation: animals see the soul as inherent and inseparable from life, while the mechanical army believes it can be copied and learned.
The setting’s rules are further expanded through a planet-spanning central network. The Fire Seed is described as the signal carrier for that system, and anything touched by it is said to be transformed and reshaped according to the will of the “Creator.” Because that core influence is unstable, the world has fractured into separate regions, each shaped by its own geography, available resources, and ideology.
Players will explore multiple war-torn environments, including a nomadic network of mechanics and wanderers, a volcanic industrial fortress, a rare sanctuary of purity amid the chaos, and a ruined military citadel where order has begun to fall apart.
Combat-first action with animal-inspired fighting styles
ZOOPUNK keeps combat at the center of its design, pitching distinct fighting styles tied to animal traits. The game’s playable roster is presented as offering different approaches to battles, letting players tailor their own combat experience through character selection.
The trailer highlights the following playable characters:
- Braton, the Rhinoceros: a powerful fighter wielding a huge flaming sword.
- Rayton, the Rabbit: agile and fast, focused on close-quarters combat.
- Trixie, the Squirrel: quick and precise, using acrobatics and hit-and-run tactics.
In the extended trailer, Rayton teams up with Braton and Trixie for a timed infiltration of a heavily fortified enemy domain. Their objective is to seize the Centelha (the game’s “Spark” concept), racing against the clock to protect the threatened Torch City.
Rayton’s mission and what comes next
With ZOOPUNK positioned as a new chapter in the Torch City saga, TiGames is positioning it as a journey blending metal, wild nature, and determination—while aiming to move away from the typical Metroidvania style label. The game’s story and gameplay are being previewed now through the extended trailer, with platforms confirmed but a launch date still pending.
