Palworld Guide: How to Get to Sunreach Island via Feybreak Tower Altar

The “proper” route to the floating islands of Sunreach in Palworld involves using an altar placed on top of the Feybreak Tower. That said, the game also leaves the door open for players who want to brute-force the ascent by sea and flight—assuming your setup is up to the climb.

Key takeaways

  • Sunreach can be accessed via an altar on the Feybreak Tower after defeating its boss.
  • After interacting with the altar, you’ll load into Sunreach and can pick up quests by talking to a Citizen.
  • You can reach Sunreach by flying, but your Pal must be able to sustain flight to roughly 350 meters above sea level.
  • Suzaku is recommended as an easier flying option thanks to high stamina and a movement-speed Partner Skill.
  • Exploring from the Sunreach Watchtower (southwest) removes clouds on the map for a clearer view.

Sunreach Floating Island in Palworld

After you defeat the Feybreak Tower boss, you’ll be relocated to the top of the tower as part of the usual flow. This time, though, you’ll notice an altar you can interact with. Using it triggers a loading screen.

When the loading completes, you arrive in a brand-new area. If it’s your first time in Sunreach, the map will be covered by fog of war, though your current position is still visible on the map. In front of you, you’ll spot a Sunreach Citizen—talk to them if you want to start a new quest.

Before you push further into Sunreach, it’s worth making a quick detour to the Sunreach Watchtower to the southwest. Activating it clears the clouds on your map, letting you view the floating island setup more clearly as you plan your next steps.

Can you fly to Sunreach in Palworld?

Yes—you can fly to Sunreach in Palworld. The catch is that flying there isn’t straightforward: you need specific Pals that can stay aloft high enough without burning through stamina too quickly. The lowest part of Sunreach (around the middle section of the area) sits at roughly 350 meters above sea level, so your Pal must be capable of reaching at least that altitude. In practice, that means using a fast Pal, a Pal with a large stamina pool, or ideally both.

When version 1.0 launched, the Feybreak Tower altar wasn’t on my radar because I had already cleared the boss. Naturally, I ended up reaching Sunreach manually. Since I had already obtained a Jetragon and Selyne, the island was easy to reach for me. If you don’t have those yet, the easiest stand-in I’d suggest is Suzaku, which you can find around the Tower of the PIDF.

Suzaku stands out because it has a strong stamina profile and is relatively easy to access. It also has a Partner Skill you can leverage: Suzaku’s Movement Speed increases by 5% for every other Fire Pal in your party. You can further boost that multiplier using the Pal Essence Condenser.

In my testing, even a Suzaku without any movement speed or stamina bonuses—and with no Fire Pal in the party—was still able to reach the floating islands of Sunreach. By contrast, basic fliers like Nitewing typically only make it about halfway before dropping, even if they have excellent Passive Skills such as Legend and Runner.
