Palworld 1.0 Guide: Fast Ways to Get Fiber and Use It for Crafting

In Palworld, Fiber is one of those resources that can feel optional early on—until it suddenly becomes a key ingredient for building. If you want to stock up efficiently, you’ll mainly be turning Wood into Fiber, with a little extra help from dedicated processing and the right Pal assignments.

How to Get Fiber in Palworld

There are multiple paths to obtaining Fiber in Palworld. You can use the Crusher, cut trees, or defeat and catch specific Pals. Of all the options, the fastest bulk route is to cut trees for Wood and then process that Wood into Fiber using the Crusher. You can also automate Wood collection by setting up a logging setup and keeping it running while you do other tasks.

Since there isn’t a structure that farms Fiber directly, your main goal is to process 1 Wood into 2 Fibers at a Crusher (or the Cryogenic Crusher). Here’s what Pal skill compatibility you need for each processing station:

  • Crusher: Watering Lv. 1
  • Cryogenic Crusher: Cooling Lv. 1 (and it requires electricity)

The Cryogenic Crusher costs more and demands extra materials to build, but it also provides a Work Speed +100% boost. In practical terms, that higher processing speed makes it more efficient than the standard Crusher for Fiber production.

You’ll also receive Fiber naturally while playing normally—when you cut trees for Wood or Hardwood, Fiber is awarded as part of the gathering process. This isn’t a bad strategy at all: you gain Fiber immediately from the tree-cutting, and you can still convert the Wood into additional Fiber back at your base afterward.

Finally, some Fiber can be obtained by defeating or catching certain Pals. However, this approach is the least efficient for bulk Fiber farming compared to processing Wood or cutting trees.

Examples of Pals that can drop Fiber include Hangyu and Hoocrates. One important note: Hoocrates is a nighttime Pal, meaning you can’t catch it during the day.

Fiber in Palworld: Why It Matters After Version 1.0

During the Early Access period of Palworld, Fiber tends to accumulate quickly because there aren’t many uses for it. After the full release of Palworld 1.0, Fiber becomes far more important because it’s required to craft Wooden Boards, and that building material shows up in a large number of structures following the version 1.0 update.

To craft 1 Wooden Board, you need:

  • 10 Wood
  • 5 Fiber
  • 1 Nail

Wooden Boards unlock at level 15, which makes them an early-game construction staple. Below are example structures that require Wooden Boards, meaning you’ll need Fiber as part of the supply chain:

  • 10 Wooden Boards
  • 40 Stones
  • 10 Ingots
  • 5 Wooden Boards
  • 15 Ingot
  • 3 Flame Organ
  • 15 Ingot
  • 10 Wooden Boards
  • 10 Nails
  • 10 Wooden Boards
  • 100 Stones
  • 20 Paldium Fragments
  • 20 Cement
  • 10 Wooden Boards
  • 20 Clothes
  • 15 Nails
