Nvidia Offers Free Steam Copy of Control Resonant with Select RTX 50 GPUs
Nvidia is preparing the launch of Control Resonant by tying it to a limited-time promotion for certain GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards: buyers of eligible desktop GPUs and specific laptop models can claim a free Steam copy of the action adventure.
What’s in the bundle—and which RTX 50 models qualify
The offer is designed for the period leading up to the game’s release and is restricted to participating retailers. In Germany, the promotion is not limited to Nvidia’s own channels; participating sellers named by the company include Amazon, Caseking, Krotus, and Alternate, with eligibility determined by the exact product and store listing.
For desktop systems, Nvidia’s qualifying hardware includes the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070. For laptops, the eligible SKUs are the GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, and RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. In all cases, the purchased item must match Nvidia’s specified qualified models.
- Eligible desktop GPUs: RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5070
- Eligible laptop GPUs: RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, RTX 5070 Laptop GPU
- Available only through participating retailers for a limited time
- Claim flow uses the Nvidia App on a PC or notebook with the matching GeForce card
- One code per person is provided after purchase
How the Steam code redemption works
After purchase from a participating dealer, customers receive instructions for redemption. The activation step is performed through the Nvidia App on a PC or laptop that has the relevant GeForce graphics hardware installed. Following activation, Control Resonant is added to the buyer’s Steam account.
Nvidia also sets a usage limit: only one redemption code is allotted per person, which is intended to prevent multiple claims under the same individual account.
Release date and the tech Nvidia is highlighting for launch
Control Resonant is scheduled to release on September 24, 2026. Nvidia is positioning Pathtracing as a headline rendering feature for the new entry in the series, describing it as a way to compute effects such as shadows, reflections, and global illumination on GeForce RTX 50 systems.
Nvidia frames Pathtracing as an evolution of ray tracing technology used in the game’s predecessor, emphasizing continuity in lighting and physics-driven visuals.
On top of that, the company says DLSS 4.5 will be part of the launch lineup. Specifically, it calls out Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution, and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation as key components, with the exact set of available features dependent on the individual GPU.
Conditions players should watch for before counting on the giveaway
Because the Steam access is tied to a promotion rather than a permanent bundle, Nvidia includes several practical limitations. The offer is available only while stock lasts, and redemption may be subject to regional restrictions depending on where the claim is made.
The company also flags an age rating requirement for the game. Finally, Nvidia indicates that a Game Ready driver intended to support the launch is expected to arrive before the September 24 release date.
