Mass Effect 3 Reunion Missions Guide: Returning Characters and Bigger Side Quests
“Reunion Missions” in Mass Effect 3 are a standout kind of Side Mission: they’re more substantial than the quick N7-style tasks, with longer structures that sit alongside the side content you handled on the major story planets during Acts 2 and 3. Each one also centers on a character returning from Mass Effect 2, giving the usual wandering-and-loot routine a more personal hook. If you’re using the guide section from the Mass Effect 3 wiki walkthrough, this page’s goal is to help you complete all four Reunion Missions—survive every fight, locate every item, and choose the right options for your run.
Checklists
Reunion Missions are a special category of Side Mission in Mass Effect 3. Unlike the shorter N7 Missions, these are extended adventures that match the scale of the side quests from the main campaign’s Act 2 and Act 3 planet segments. They’re also built around a returning figure from Mass Effect 2, making each assignment feel like a reunion rather than just another errand.
Within this guide section, you’re walked through completing all four Reunion Missions. That includes strategies for surviving every combat encounter, finding all items, and making selections that align with the playthrough you want.
Grissom Academy: Emergency Evacuation
- Prerequisite: Complete “Priority: Palaven”
After Shepard recovers the Primarch from the turian moon of Menae, Specialist Traynor contacts Shepard with an urgent distress call coming from Grissom Academy. The message suggests the Turians responded to the school’s alert, but the transmission feels wrong in some way—so it’s worth investigating instead of assuming the situation is under control.
Attican Traverse: Krogan Team
- Prerequisite: Complete “Priority: Sur’Kesh”
Following Shepard’s high-risk extraction from the salarian homeworld of Sur’Kesh, the leader of Clan Urnot—also the de facto Krogan Leader—asks Shepard to look into a Krogan team that went missing in the Attican Traverse. The incident reportedly took place in the Ninmah Cluster, within Rachni territory, which is exactly the sort of complication that can’t be ignored.
Arrae: Ex-Cerberus Scientists
- Prerequisite: Complete “Priority: The Citadel 2”
After Shepard meets with the Salarian Councillor on the Citadel, Traynor pulls Shepard aside again, this time with a new lead she’s uncovered. It turns out some Cerberus scientists have abandoned the organization and disappeared—Traynor has traced their whereabouts to the planet Gellix. If you want to help the war effort, this is a promising place to go and see whether they can be persuaded to join your side.
Mesana: Distress Signal
After Shepard meets with the Salarian Councillor on the Citadel, Liara tells Shepard about a communication from Asari High Command. A remote Asari installation has gone dark, and Command wants the Commander to investigate. Even if it doesn’t sound like an immediate emergency, Liara stresses that the Asari military wouldn’t ask Shepard to handle it unless the matter truly mattered.
