July 2026 PS Plus Monthly Games Now Available to Claim (Free for Members)

PlayStation Plus members can now claim the monthly games for July 2026. Sony’s new set includes titles worth $115 in total retail value, letting PS Plus subscribers add them to their libraries at no additional cost until early August 2026.

For comparison, the June 2026 PS Plus monthly lineup ran larger than usual, featuring four games. July returns to the standard three-title rotation Sony has maintained since the PS5 era began.

Sony has also been expanding access on the Extra and Premium tiers, adding two additional games there to bring June 2026’s overall slate up to five titles, with more additions expected later.

$115 Worth of New Games Now Available to PS Plus Subscribers

The July 2026 monthly lineup includes the turn-based roguelite RPG For the King 2, the action RPG CrossCode, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Modern Warfare 3 is noted as the second best-selling release of 2023, behind Hogwarts Legacy. All three titles became available to claim on July 7 at about 9 a.m. ET in the United States. Following Sony’s usual schedule, subscribers in Europe and Japan were able to claim the same games a bit earlier—around 10 a.m. local time.

CrossCode Is the Standout PS Plus Essential Game for July 2026 in More Ways Than One

Looking at overall shop pricing, For the King 2, Modern Warfare 3, and CrossCode together add up to $149.97 on the PlayStation Store. That places July’s total a little below June’s monthly free games (by roughly $50), while still edging above the May 2026 lineup (by about $10).

On the reception side, CrossCode is the most acclaimed entry in this month’s trio. On OpenCritic it averages 84, and on the PlayStation Store it sits at 4.57 stars based on 71 media reviews and more than 1,200 player ratings, respectively. Developed by German indie studio Radical Fish Games, CrossCode has earned attention for being both a respectful nod to classic ’90s JRPGs and a strong game on its own merits. It’s been widely praised for combat that stays engaging, exploration that feels rewarding, an emotional narrative, and puzzles that are satisfying—often with enough variety to keep them from turning repetitive.

If you haven’t been tracking Activision’s recent big-budget shooter activity, it’s also worth flagging a change related to Modern Warfare 3. In 2025, the publisher separated Modern Warfare 3 from the controversial Call of Duty HQ launcher. Because of that, the 2023 game no longer demands hundreds of gigabytes of HDD or SSD storage just to play.

Following the global rollout of the July 2026 monthly games, the next major PS Plus update is expected around July 15. That’s when Sony will likely preview the next wave of Extra- and Premium-tier catalog additions. The first of those new additions could arrive on July 21, though not every planned update may land right away.

Sony has begun spacing out Extra and Premium content drops starting in June 2026. The stated goal is to encourage more ongoing engagement with PS Plus—and, in turn, improve profitability.
