Hello Kitty Island Adventure Tourist Shop Guide: Locations, Unlocks, Items

The Tourist Shop is a City Town storefront run by Hangyodon in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. It’s stocked with souvenirs drawn from the game’s characters, the City Town setting itself, and the Nuls who bring the neighborhood to life. If you’re trying to unlock Hangyodon’s shop and figure out what’s worth picking up, here’s the full rundown.

Tourist Shop Prerequisites

City Town’s stores don’t open all at once—you typically have to unlock them in a particular sequence, and the Tourist Shop lands somewhere in the middle. To access it, you’ll need to have already opened these locations:

  • Piano Plush Pals Store
  • Pekkle’s Music Shop
  • City Town Theater
  • Keroppi’s Orchard (including its upgrade, which is unlocked through the Quest called “Tree-mendous Tastes”)

Most players will find that the last major Quests they need before the Tourist Shop becomes available are “Tree-mendous Tastes” and “Talent Time”, with the latter being the final Quest in the Theater storyline.

You also must reach an Imagination Cafe Level of at least 11. Your current level can be checked at the PC inside the Cafe. That level increases as you fill customers’ orders, and the most efficient way to raise it is to complete the maximum number of orders each day—100.

Once those requirements are met, you still have to run through two specific Quests to get the Tourist Shop officially unlocked:

  • Playing Tourist
  • Washed In

Playing Tourist

For the Quest “Playing Tourist”, start by talking to My Melody. From there, you’ll help My Melody, Pochacco, and Hangyodon get ready for a performance at the Theater. The work involves crafting particular Plush Pals and grabbing Music CDs from Pekkle’s Shop. When the Quest wraps up, Hangyodon will bring up the idea that City Town would benefit from selling souvenir items—setting the stage for what comes next.

Washed In

The second Quest, “Washed In”, starts on the next real-world day after you finish “Playing Tourist”. With Hangyodon’s suggestion in motion, City Town responds by setting up a new storefront and scattering souvenir boxes around the city. At that point, it becomes your job—along with Usahana and your friends—to get the shop operating for real.

During this Quest, you’ll prepare food at the Imagination Cafe and then deliver the supplies Usahana needs to stock and open the store. Completing “Washed In” rewards you with another Dream Fragment, pushing you closer to uncovering the mystery surrounding the fog.

What Does the Tourist Shop Sell?

After you’ve unlocked it, the Tourist Shop offers a variety of souvenir items. Expect things like character-themed sunglasses, shirts featuring “I <3…” with Hello Kitty, City Town, and Nul branding, and hats and decorative items tied to the Rainbow Tower. There are also more Nul-focused goods, including Nul hats, backpacks, cups/mugs, and cardboard cutouts.

All of these purchases are made using City Coins. The main way to earn City Coins is by completing customers’ orders at the Imagination Cafe.
