Kuromi’s Boutique Checklists

Kuromi’s Boutique sits in the City Town area of Hello Kitty Island Adventure. You’ll find it on the eastern rooftop, positioned beside the Theater and one level above Pekkle’s Music Shop. The shop’s core function is simple: you can create custom Avatar Palettes, and you can customize existing palettes by changing their colors.

Kuromi’s Boutique Prerequisites

Before you can start the quest chain that ultimately leads to unlocking Kuromi’s Boutique, you’ll need to complete the following steps:

  • Reach Level 13 at the Imagination Cafe by serving guests (with a daily cap of 100).
  • Unlock City Town Sewers by completing the quest line that finishes with “Gone Underground”.
  • Unlock Keroppi’s Orchard in “Branching Out”, then upgrade it in “Tree-mendous Tastes”.
  • Unlock the Theater by completing the quest chain that ends with “Talent Time”.
  • Unlock the Tourist Shop by finishing the quests “Playing Tourist” and “Washed In”.

Once you complete “Washed In” and the Tourist Shop opens, you can begin the Boutique quest chain starting with “Cake-tastrophe.”

How to Make Avatar Palettes at Kuromi’s Boutique

Inside Kuromi’s Boutique, you can either make a brand-new Avatar Palette or edit an existing one by changing one, two, or three colors. Avatar Palettes are typically obtained by increasing Friendship with characters or through login rewards during special events, so having a customization workflow here is a big quality-of-life upgrade.

To start, interact with the Mirror in Kuromi’s Boutique. From there, choose either a palette to modify or an empty slot if you want to build a fully new palette.

Next, pick the color(s) you want to alter and then select 10 flowers from your Inventory. All 10 flowers must be the same color—you can’t mix different flower colors in the same change. You also need solid-colored flowers; flowers with patterns or special visual effects won’t work. Once you’ve chosen the set, the palette color updates to match the flower color you selected. Right now, there are about 30 flower colors you can use in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, giving you plenty of options.

If you want to tint the palette color—making it lighter or darker—you can add another step using 5 or 10 white or black flowers. The game applies the following results:

  • 5 White Flowers: Lightens the color by one shade
  • 10 White Flowers: Lightens the color by two shades
  • 5 Black Flowers: Darkens the color by one shade
  • 10 Black Flowers: Darkens the color by two shades

White flowers are naturally available and can be found once you unlock the Merry Meadows region. Black flowers, however, require completing a chain of quests before they can appear in the world. If you’re aiming for darker tones, use the How to Breed Black Flowers guide to get the process down.

You can preview any color changes you plan to make. When you’re happy with the result, choose “Customize” and your Avatar Palette will be ready. After that, you can come back to Kuromi’s Boutique anytime to create additional palettes or edit ones you’ve already made.
