Disney Dreamlight Valley Shadowy Surprise Quest Walkthrough: Everoak Tree Honey Pots
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, players can wrap up the “Shadowy Surprise” quest by working through a set of puzzles and tracking down the missing honeypots scattered around the Everoak Tree area. Once you’ve just finished the “How to Meet a Best Friend (Again)” quest, you can immediately start the interlude where you and Piglet explore the Everoak Tree. Here’s a clear walkthrough for finishing “Shadowy Surprise” in DDV.
You’ll also want to know how to craft Foresty Quiche in Disney Dreamlight Valley: it’s a five-star dish that calls for particular ingredients found in Honeyglow Woods.
The Shadowy Surprise Quest Guide In Disney Dreamlight Valley
After you earn the yellow paint from Pooh Bear during the earlier quest, head over to the Everoak Tree and finish painting the display. That action opens the way into a cave, where you and Piglet step inside to continue exploring.
The Sun-Glow Honeypot won’t be waiting in the first area you reach, and the cave is crowded with obstacles. Keep moving deeper until you come across a door that’s blocked by a tiles-based puzzle.
How To Solve The Tile Puzzle To Open The Door
To open the door in DDV, you must rotate the symbols so the tiles match: flower (I), honeypot (II), and honeypot (III). You can figure out the correct mapping by examining the cave and trying to locate a clue that indicates which symbols correspond to each numbered tile.
The tile labeled (I) is located above the honey racks in the corner section of the wall. It’s positioned next to a chest that sits amid resin-like rock formations.
On the opposite side of the space, you’ll see bulky, twisted wood obstacles.
Use a shovel to clear those obstacles so you can uncover the symbol for tile (III).
I personally couldn’t spot anything that clearly pointed to tile number (II). However, when I attempted the door puzzle, the second tile also ended up showing the honeypot symbol. That means the correct sequence to use is flower (I), honeypot (II), and honeypot (III).
When the door unlocks, take a photo of the scary shadows for Piglet. Since he’s too afraid to enter the room, your job is to locate the missing honeypots and place them to block those shadows.
Where To Find The Honeypots To Solve The Puzzle In DDV
In the left side of the room, remove the twisted honey and pick up the yellow honeypot.
Stay on the left and walk toward the honey river. Clear the twisted honey there to reveal the blue honeypot.
If you cleared obstacles but still didn’t find a honeypot, go back and remove all the twisted honey throughout the room to be safe.
After that, collect another honeypot from the nearby fishing ripple.
Finally, on the right side of the room, dig up the last honeypot.
Once you have all the honeypots, solve the floor puzzle by setting each one into its proper spot and then pulling the levers to finish the picture.
- Pull the right lever (1) twice.
- Pull the left lever (2) three times.

After completing the puzzle in DDV, the shadows stop looking frightening, and you’ll notice a crack forming beneath the honeypot shadow. Use the pickaxe to obtain the Sun-Glow Honeypot, place it into the alcove, and then step back outside—however, the fog still lingers.
The next task is to repair the bridge that leads to the Nectar Apiary. To do that, you’ll need to gather the following items:
- Pufflebud Pods
- Golden Honey
- Tree Resin
- Juniper Berry
- Plush Fish
- Vegetable
- Golden Honey
- Busy Bees’ House
- Honeyglow Woods
Dreamers can finish the Shadowy Surprise quest in DDV after turning in the required materials and repairing the bridge.
