Black Ops 2 Origins Guide: How to Earn G-Strike Grenades in Zombies
The G-Strike Grenades are the upgraded Monkey Bombs featured exclusively in Black Op 2 Zombies when you play Origins. In addition to being a required item for the main easter egg, they’re also great for drawing crowds of zombies in one direction and then punishing them with an explosive burst wherever you toss the grenade. If you’re looking to add G-Strikes to your loadout, here’s how to get them in Origins.
To earn the G-Strike Grenades, start by completing the Little Lost Girl easter egg in Origins. You can do it either solo or in co-op, and the process is built around a step-by-step route you can follow throughout the map.
Keep in mind that the G-Strike Grenade setup is tied to melee kills. That’s why it’s smart to grab this earlier rather than later—especially if you’re planning to push toward higher rounds, where relying on close-range stabs can become a lot riskier.
How to Get the G-Strike Grenades in Origins
- Go to Generator 2. Inside the bunker there’s a wooden table holding four stone tablets, each marked with a fist symbol. You’ll need to interact with one tablet to pick it up.
- Carry the stone tablet to the church. The church is located by Generator 6, past No Man’s Land.
- Place the tablet into the church basin by interacting with the basin. Once it’s set, you must earn 20 melee kills near the stone tablet to cleanse it. After you’ve killed enough zombies, you’ll be able to interact with the stone tablet again to take it back.
- Return the tablet to Generator 2, back to the bunker where you originally found the table. During the trip, you must avoid stepping on wet mud, the kind that slows you down. The route is straightforward: leave the church, then stay to the left while crossing wooden boards and dried mud.
- If you accidentally step on mud and the tablet becomes dirty while you’re carrying it, don’t panic—go back to the basin and repeat the cleansing step by getting melee kills again.
- Once you place the cleansed tablet back on the wooden table in the Generator 2 bunker, you’ll need another 20 melee kills. After that, the G-Strikes rise from the table, and you can pick them up. These grenades now function as your new Tactical Equipment.
The G-Strike Grenades behave like upgraded Monkey Bombs. When you throw them, zombies rush straight toward the G-Strike location, and then an explosive barrage comes down repeatedly in waves directly over the grenades—making it easier to wipe out groups while keeping enemies pinned in place.
While you’re working through the steps to obtain G-Strikes, it can also help to know how to build the rest of Origins’ staff weapons. If you’re aiming to complete everything in the map, you may want to follow these guides for:
