Best AN-94 Class in Black Ops 2: Loadout Guide That Dominates
The AN-94 is the last Assault Rifle you unlock in Black Ops 2, and it’s a grind that pays off. For more than ten years, the AN-94 has been treated as a top-tier pick in the game’s meta—both for its performance and for how satisfying it feels to use. If you run the best AN-94 class setup in Black Ops 2, you’ll quickly see why.
In this guide, we’ll break down the best attachments for the AN-94, plus the Perks and Scorestreaks that pair well with the loadout. The goal is simple: help you control fights, keep pressure on the enemy team, and climb the leaderboard.
Even though the AN-94 is the standout Assault Rifle, the MSMC is the SMG to beat. If you’re interested in the SMG side of things, you can also check for a complete MSMC class setup.
There’s also a full camo and weapon mastery checklist available, so you can work through every requirement and chase the elusive Diamond Camo on your favorite guns.
Best AN-94 AR Class Setup Overview in Black Ops 2
I’ll explain the reasoning behind my choices, but none of this has to be treated as the only correct option. Feel free to swap Perks or Attachments depending on what fits your style. My personal approach is run-and-gun, which is why the setup leans more aggressive instead of staying silent.
Best AN-94 Attachments
- Quickdraw
- Stock
Quickdraw Handle is a standout option for the AN-94. It boosts your ADS (aim-down-sights) speed, letting you move from hipfire to aiming faster. Since Assault Rifles generally come with slower ADS timing, Quickdraw helps close that gap in real gunfights.
Stock is the second attachment I run because it supports quicker movement while aiming. Being able to strafe a bit faster during a firefight makes it harder for opponents to land shots cleanly, and it also makes corner movement smoother thanks to the improved pace.
There are other attachment ideas you could experiment with, such as Fast Mag, since the AN-94 reloads more slowly. A Suppressor can also be a reasonable choice, but I stuck with the faster, more engaging options because that’s the kind of combat flow I prefer—quick exchanges and constant momentum.
Best AN-94 Perks & Wildcards
- Perk 1: Lightweight
- Perk 2: Toughness
- Perk 2: Scavenger
- Perk 3: Dexterity
- Perk 3: Tactical Mask
I use Lightweight to gain movement speed and to remove fall damage from the equation (though fall damage isn’t really the main concern in this setup). The movement increase matters because you’re carrying an Assault Rifle—being faster helps you stay mobile, chain kills more effectively, and actively hunt down opponents.
For my Perk 2 slots, I choose Toughness and Scavenger by using Perk 2 Greed. Toughness helps you win more gunfights by reducing flinch when you’re hit. That means you can keep your aim steadier and eliminate enemies first. Scavenger complements that by letting you pick up ammunition from fallen enemies, so you can keep your killstreak rolling without having to switch away from your reliable AN-94.
On Perk 3, I run two Perks using Perk 3 Greed. Dexterity is a constant pick because it lets you ADS faster after sprinting. When combined with Quickdraw, you’ll be snapping into sights far quicker than most opponents can react. I also bring Tactical Mask, since a lot of players lean on Concussion and Shock Charges—equipment that can disrupt you and potentially ruin your streak.
Best AN-94 Scorestreaks
- UAV (425 Score)
- Counter-UAV (600 Score)
- Orbital VSAT (1,200 Score)
UAV is a solid early scorestreak. Even though it only provides a blip indicating where an enemy was, it’s still valuable because it can help your teammates secure kills during its active window, which also earns you assist points.
Counter-UAV is my favorite option here. It disables the enemy minimap, and any kills earned while that effect is in place can net assist points. It also gives you more freedom to fire your unsuppressed AN-94 without opponents having easy confirmation of your location.
Orbital VSAT displays enemy locations and directions on the mini-map, and rocket launcher users can’t shoot those targets down. Having constant visibility makes it easier to build your killstreaks and keep your momentum.
Scorestreaks are ultimately a personal preference, but I prefer staying “eyes in the sky” so I can always track where enemies are—hence these three picks. If you want to lean even harder into aggression, you can go with K9 Units and Swarm for extra pressure.

WHERE TO PLAY
FORCED TO GO ROGUE – HUNTED FROM WITHIN While the Gulf War dominates the global focus, a covert organization has slipped into the top layers of the CIA. They label anyone who refuses to comply as traitors. Cast out from both the agency and the nation that once celebrated them as heroes, Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and his squad are now being hunted by the very military system that helped create them.
