How to Complete Interlude 2: The Gloomy Hollow in Disney Dreamlight Valley
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, the Honeyglow Woods expansion is steadily filling out its cast—and right now, Piglet is still stuck behind the fog. This is where your second Interlude Quest comes in: “Interlude 2: The Gloomy Hollow.” After restoring Eeyore’s House in “Chapter 6: A Place for Eeyore,” you unlocked Eeyore as a Villager you can befriend. Now, you and Eeyore will need to make your way through the Everoak Tree to reach Piglet.

Open the Everoak Tree
Talk to Eeyore. He’s likely hanging around his house area in the Gloommeadow biome. He recalls that the Everoak Tree was opened by sketching a picture with crayons you found with Pooh, and he pushes you to draw again—this time using the Charcoal Pencils he handed you at the end of “A Place for Eeyore.”
Follow Eeyore to the entrance of the Everoak Tree in Gloommeadow. The location is in a right-side alcove within Gloommeadow—specifically, to the right of the wooden bridge that crosses the river. It’s also the same area where you previously ran into and defeated the Big Red Monster during “Chapter 5: The Big Red Monster!”
Speak with Eeyore outside the Everoak Tree again. He’s hesitant to tag along, but he ultimately agrees to come with you.
Interact with the Art-ful Place—the blank canvas on the left of the Everoak Tree. Use your Charcoal Pencils to draw a picture of Eeyore. Doing so unlocks the door to the Everoak Tree, and it’s time to go inside.
Repair the Sun-Glow Honeypot
Once you enter the Everoak Tree, you’ll find a fresh area to explore. Head straight down the stairs, clearing Amber Brushwoods with your Royal Pickaxe and removing Honey Swirls by approaching them and choosing “Remove” when prompted.
At the bottom, there’s a golden platform in an alcove, similar to the one where you placed Sun-Glow Honey earlier during “Interlude: The Misplaced Honey.” To the left of the platform, read the note that again insists: “MAJIKAL SUN-GLO HUNNY GOES HERE!” This time, it looks like you’ll need to track down another batch of Sun-Glow Honey to clear more fog.
Talk to Eeyore. He points out the broken honeypot pieces scattered on the floor and suggests they’re likely parts of the Sun-Glow Honeypot you need. Your job is to pick up all the pieces and then repair them at a Crafting Station.
The pieces of Sun-Glow Honeypot are located here:
Broken Honeypot Piece #1
The first piece is on the ground right in front of the golden platform.
Broken Honeypot Piece #2
Turn left just after the golden platform. Walk past the slide puzzle sitting on the ground. You’ll spot a large debris pile. Inside the Twistroot on the far left—to the left of a gray honeypot—is Broken Honeypot Piece #2. When you remove the Twistroot with your Royal Shovel, the piece will drop out, letting you pick it up.
Broken Honeypot Piece #3
Go back to the top of the stairs. Muddy water runs down the stair side into the lower hollow. At the top of the stairs, there’s a brown ripple. Fish in that ripple, and you’ll catch the third Broken Honeypot Piece.
After collecting all three, head to the Crafting Station to the right of the gold platform at the bottom of the stairs. Combine the pieces to craft the Repaired Sun-Glow Honeypot.
Solve the Picture Puzzle
Place the Repaired Sun-Glow Honeypot on the platform in the alcove. Still, nothing happens—likely because the honeypot is currently gray and gloomy, having lost its bright, glowing magic. Talk to Eeyore again; he explains that the honeypots turned gray because he kept forgetting to visit this hollow and care for them.
Eeyore suggests that solving the picture puzzle on the ground may provide the missing clue. The puzzle is a 9 x 9 grid where you need to create a complete picture. By digging in each square with your Royal Shovel, you’ll change what the grid displays.
There are three candidate images you can make:
- One blue image showing Eeyore feeling sad
- One orange image showing Eeyore on a windy day
- One purple image showing Eeyore with his friends
So which choice works? Use these hints:
- What was your real purpose for entering the Everoak Tree in the first place? Who are you trying to locate?
- The honeypots turned gray because Eeyore was sad. Fixing the situation should restore Sun-Glow Honey’s power, so a sadness-themed answer probably won’t work.
The solution you should build is the one shown by the puzzle’s dig-count layout (the guide notes that the image below indicates how many times to use the Royal Shovel in each square). Squares that already have a number displayed show the correct picture already and do not need adjustment.
Restore Color to the Honeypots
Once the puzzle is solved correctly, a Primary Colors Potion appears. Pick it up and show it to Eeyore. He recommends using it on your Royal Watering Can.
Use the Primary Colors Potion from your Inventory. Then you can water the gray honeypots with the Royal Watering Can to restore their color.
You’ll need to water seven gray honeypots inside the hollow. Their locations are:
- One at the base of the stairs
- Two near the river, to the left of the shelves
- One between the left and center shelves, close to the large wooden debris you can’t remove yet
- Two between the center and right shelves, near the puzzle
- One to the right of the right-most shelf
Talk to Eeyore after you’ve restored color to all seven. He points out that the puzzle has rearranged itself and that one piece is now missing.
Solve the Puzzle Again
To solve the picture puzzle a second time, you must find the missing tile. It’s in the muddy river at the base of the stairs near the waterfall. A new gold ripple has appeared—use your Royal Fishing Rod to fish out the piece.
Interact with the puzzle to insert the Missing Puzzle Tile. The grid has rearranged again and now creates three new pictures. You’ll need to pick the correct one from:
- A pink image of Eeyore being sad in the rain
- A blue image of Eeyore on a sunny fall day
- A yellow image of Eeyore and his friends
The hints from earlier still apply. Your aim is to find Piglet and restore color to the Gloomy Hollow, so you want a happy outcome that includes Piglet.
The diagram below in the original walkthrough shows how many times to dig with your Royal Shovel in each square. If a square has no number, you can ignore it because it already displays the correct portion of the final image.
Water More Honeypots
After you re-solve the puzzle, another potion drops: the Secondary Colors Potion. Use it from your Inventory to upgrade your Royal Watering Can.
Three honeypots need another round of watering because they require additional color layers. Water:
- The honeypot at the base of the stairs
- The honeypot between the waterfall and the left-most shelf, at the base of the waterfall
- The honeypot to the right of the center shelf, near the bottom right corner of the puzzle
When you talk to Eeyore after that, he says you’re ready to water the Sun-Glow Honey. Do it, and a Memory appears. Pick up the Memory; it reveals the story of how the Forgetting seeped into the Honeyglow Woods.
Clear the Corrupted Honey Wall
Talk to Eeyore, and he suggests leaving the Everoak Tree to see what changed. Exit the Everoak Tree and watch a cutscene as the fog clears away from the Gloommeadow.
This time, when you speak with Eeyore again, he has a new idea about where Piglet may be. Follow Eeyore to the top right corner of the Gloommeadow. There, another Corrupted Honey Wall blocks the path into a new region called Braveheart Grove.
When you talk to Eeyore here, he agrees you’ll need to gather materials to remove this wall. This time, you’ll need:
- 3 x Shiny Honey Agate – mined from Rock Spots anywhere in the Honeyglow Woods
- 5 x Golden Honey – harvested from the Busy Bees’ House
- 1 x Toasted Picnic Sandwich – cooked using:
- Golden Honey – harvested from the Busy Bees’ House

Optional Tasks
To officially wrap up “Interlude 2: The Gloomy Hollow,” you only need to remove the Corrupted Honey Wall and then enter Braveheart Grove. That said, just like in “Interlude: The Misplaced Honey,” the quest includes optional tasks you can work on while you gather the required materials.
Keep in mind: these extra tasks are not mandatory, and they don’t grant extra bonuses or rewards.
The suggested optional tasks are:
- Play a round of Pooh Sticks by interacting with the sign next to the wooden bridge in the Gloommeadow. (The original guide points you to a Chapter 4 write-up for how Pooh Sticks works.)
- Increase Eeyore’s Friendship Level and complete his first Friendship Quest, “A Gloomy Goofy Adventure.”
- Restore the Scrooge’s Store Tree in Drowsybloom Acre. It requires:
- 15 Tree Resin – dug up in all Honeyglow Woods areas, dropped when removing Amber Brushwoods
- 12 Driftwood – fished from open water outside ripples in Honeyglow Woods, dropped when removing Twistroots
- 10 Oak Leaves – picked up underneath trees
