Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Rhona Dinsmore Templar Hunt Guide

In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, players can continue the Templar Hunt tied to Assassin contact Rhona Dinsmore—starting in southern Havana. Her questline centers on locating a Templar carrying a Templar Key, and completing it brings you closer to unlocking the Templar Armor.

Rhona Dinsmore: overview of the Templar Hunt

Rhona Dinsmore’s Templar Hunt is broken into four compact side quests. Each objective takes place close to the Assassin’s Bureau in Havana, so you’ll be bouncing between the city’s streets, rooftops, and courtyards rather than traveling far across the map.

  • Bureau Under Attack
  • A Thief in the Market
  • Arms Race
  • Flint’s End

Bureau Under Attack

When you first meet Rhona Dinsmore in Havana, she’s pinned down at the local Assassin’s Bureau. Soon after you arrive, Templars rush the area, leaving you only a brief window to set up your defenses.

The courtyard offers three entrances you can use. Follow Rhona’s lead and grab the explosive red powder kegs, then position them near each entrance to set up an ambush for the incoming enemies.

As soon as the timer finishes, guards will push in toward your location. Use your pistols to blast them while those explosive barrels are close enough to do the work, then wrap up the remaining threats with swords.

If you run low on health or ammo, there’s plenty of support on tables directly in front of the Bureau.

Once Rhona survives three waves of guards, the quest ends and you’ll move to the next step in the hunt.

A Thief in the Market

Next, Rhona waits for you on the western side of Havana. Talk to her to start A Thief in the Market.

She asks you to investigate a theft at a market to the northeast. Head there and begin identifying suspicious people.

Start by questioning a Spanish merchant on the southwestern corner of the market. He doesn’t provide much useful detail, so after listening to what he says, move on.

Then speak to another Spanish merchant, this time hunched near his stall a few meters north—positioned by the tomato plants and red rugs.

After questioning the merchants, sit on the nearby bench to blend in. While you’re hidden, the pickpocket will attempt to steal from a nearby NPC and then flee.

Chase the thief toward the southwest. He isn’t quick, so there’s no need for advanced movement tricks—just keep sprinting through the open streets of Havana.

Eventually, the thief reaches a dead end after climbing stairs to a patio. Progress from there requires parkour, and he won’t manage it. If you fall behind, he’ll wait for you.

Catch up and take him down. He draws his sword and fights back, but a fast counter takedown ends the encounter quickly. You can also kick him into the wall using R2 + Square for a wall takedown.

Loot the body and read the letter to finalize the quest. If any guards noticed you during that short fight, you’ll need to become anonymous again before the objective can complete.

Arms Race

For the next mission, return to the Assassin’s Bureau and speak with Rhona to begin Arms Race. Local Templars have been hoarding gunpowder, and Rhona wants you to ignite it all.

There are three powder reserves around Havana. Each one is guarded by enemies that patrol the area.

Powder Reserve #1

Begin with the nearest reserve. Climb onto the tiled rooftops to survey the courtyard below. Your target is an explosive barrel sitting in the open.

Be careful: a sniper is posted on the roof.

From the rooftops, you can spot the powder keg under an awning on the western side of the courtyard.

You can destroy it with a pistol shot, or if you’re out of ammo you can sneak close and press Triangle to trigger a manual detonation.

Powder Reserve #2

After the first powder keg goes down, head to the next reserve to the west. Stay on the rooftops. Two snipers are positioned above the courtyard, so either eliminate them quietly through assassinations or use the Rope Dart to pull them down.

The second barrel sits under an awning that looks similar to the first, but this time there are two guards standing directly in front of it.

A pistol angle can work, but it’s generally simpler to double assassinate both guards from above, then ignite the powder reserves up close.

Powder Reserve #3

With the second barrel destroyed, only the last reserve remains. The courtyard layout is almost the same as the one you just cleared, with one key difference that makes it a bit easier.

The powder keg is still under an awning guarded by two watchers. However, you can drop down through a hole behind the awning to sneak in behind them. Just watch the rooftops for snipers.

Destroying the third powder reserve completes the quest.

Flint’s End

For the final portion of this Templar Hunt, Rhona is waiting on a rooftop near the docks. Now it’s time to go after Flint.

Move with Rhona across the rooftops. She’ll leap down to the docks and draw everyone’s attention, giving you a chance to slip around.

Wait until the guards fully rush to Rhona’s location, then drop down and sprint after Hilary Flint. He’s automatically marked for you.

Flint heads toward the edge of the pier, but once he reaches the limit of the space, he stops to fight. He’s straightforward and prefers dealing damage from a distance with a pistol, so close quickly and use swords for an easier takedown.

You can also shoot an explosive barrel on the pier next to Flint for a quick kill.

When Flint is down, hold Triangle beside his body to confirm the kill. Since Rhona keeps the other guards occupied, you shouldn’t need to worry about immediate interference.

After Rhona and Flint exchange words, return to the Bureau to finish the quest and wrap up the Templar Hunt in Havana.

There are still three additional Templar Hunts in Black Flag Resynced after this one. Once you’re ready for more Templar Keys, sail toward these next targets:

  • Anto
  • Opia Apito
  • Upton Travers
