A 2079 energy breakthrough sparks global subterranean war

Set in 2079, the story follows a world where humanity survives inside an energy bubble after Dr. Robert Palmer discovers a crystal capable of supplying the energy people need—and then some. The problem is access: not everyone can benefit from Palmer’s discovery, leading to large-scale battles happening beneath the surface across the globe.

To fight for control of this power, robots originally used to develop the technology are repurposed into combat mecha. But rumors claim that the so-called Palmer crystals contain a small amount of negative energy, and that an ultra-intelligent artificial system is attempting to harness it for battlefield advantages. It remains unclear whether this “dark energy” can be controlled by the mecha themselves.
