Meccha Chameleon Patch Notes: New Maps, Poses, Body Types and Fixes

Meccha Chameleon has continued to get steady support through ongoing updates, with each patch bringing fresh maps, gameplay rules, character poses, and additional body types—alongside a mix of fixes and performance improvements.

June 29, 2026: Meccha Chameleon Patch 2.3.0

  • Hunters now have ammo limits (toggleable in options)
    • 1 ammo is used when a shot misses, and 1 ammo is returned when a shot hits.
    • Ammo is not consumed when firing at fleeing players.
    • If every Hunter runs out of ammo, the Hiders take the win.
  • Raised the maximum number of server tags to 5
  • Fixed a bug where duplicate server tags could be assigned
  • Fixed an issue preventing the Body Type interface from closing when transitioning into a Hunter
  • Fixed a problem where “Hunter Victory” could appear regardless of the actual outcome
  • Fixed an issue where clones failed to vanish immediately in modes other than Double Mode

June 28, 2026: Meccha Chameleon Patch 2.2.0

  • Added randomization for furniture and other elements on the “Hide-and-Seek Mansion” map. The same randomization is planned to roll out to all maps later.
  • Introduced 1.4x and 1.7x size options for the character “Cube.”
  • Fixed a freeze/unresponsive issue that could happen if the body type selection screen opened while in paint mode.
  • Fixed a bug where the match would fail to end if it started after a Hunter disconnected.
  • Fixed a problem where characters scaled to 1.4x or higher could get stuck on stairs.
  • Updated the saving system so data is stored locally when cloud saving fails.
  • Fixed an issue where loading could begin when attempting to join a server that wasn’t accessible.

June 27, 2026: Meccha Chameleon Patch 2.1.0

  • Total discoveries are now displayed
  • Reworked the official map “The Backrooms”
  • Added a “No Mods” tag to the server browser
  • Players can now check the player count in the lobby
  • Added a quit option to the Mod download request screen
  • Tweaked the 3D eyedropper to make color picking easier

  • Clones can now be created (up to 2 clones)
    • Clone counts contribute to the blind spot metrics. If a clone is destroyed, the main body is also destroyed.

June 24, 2026: Meccha Chameleon Patch 1.9.0

  • Added the new character “Cube”
  • Players can now select characters individually before starting the match
  • The chosen map can now be confirmed before the game begins
  • Hiding players’ positions are now less likely to desynchronize
  • Fixed an issue where certain poses would stop halfway
  • Increased the hunter shotgun firing delay from 1.5 seconds to 2.0 seconds

June 21, 2026: Meccha Chameleon Patch 1.6.0

  • Added an option to change the size of Hiders
  • Implemented countermeasures for cloud save errors
  • Fixed a bug where players who had already been found could reappear during the searching phase
  • Fixed an issue where Seekers who couldn’t load the map could clip through it and eliminate players

June 20, 2026: Meccha Chameleon Patch 1.5.0

  • During the answer reveal, you can now press “Like” for hidden players. This can be done once per match, and the total number of “Likes” is saved permanently.
  • You can no longer earn missed points while moving.
  • Adjusted the emission color during the answer reveal: Undiscovered is Red, and Discovered is Blue.

  • Fixed a bug where detected players might not be removed after a certain period of time
