Top MP7 Loadout for Close-Quarters Play in Black Ops 2 Multiplayer
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is getting plenty of fresh attention thanks to its PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 releases, and players are already experimenting with older favorites as they settle back into the multiplayer flow. The SCAR-H is currently stealing a lot of fights, but when it comes to close-quarters pressure, a lot of people are turning to the MP7. Here’s a strong MP7 class setup designed to help you dominate in those up-close engagements.
For anyone jumping back in—or joining for the first time—Black Ops 2 includes 31 multiplayer maps. The lineup features both base-game stages and additional DLC maps, so it’s worth knowing what’s available before you start grinding.
Best MP7 Class Setup in Black Ops 2
Best MP7 Build
- Suppressor: Stay off the radar while firing. It’s especially useful if you want a more stealth-focused approach.
- Fast Mag: Speed up reloads. This is the go-to choice for keeping the MP7 ready after a quick streak of kills.
For my MP7 setup, I went with a straightforward configuration that doesn’t overload the weapon with attachments. This class uses just two upgrades, both aimed at turning the MP7 into a reliable submachine gun in real fights. Some players may consider running Quick Draw and a Long Barrel, but the MP7’s aim-down-sights speed is already quick out of the box, which makes Quick Draw less necessary for most engagements. Long Barrel can still be a reasonable pick, depending on how you like your sight picture and effective range.
Best Perks & Wildcard
- Hardline and Ghost (Perk 1):
- Scavenger (Perk 2):
- Awareness & Dead Silence (Perk 3):
- Perk 1 Greed (Wildcard 1):
- Perk 3 Greed (Wildcard 2):
This build is definitely perk-heavy, and the reason is simple: the MP7 is already one of the strongest SMGs in the game even without stacking a bunch of attachments. Because of that, it makes sense to lean into perks instead. Since this is a stealth-leaning setup, Ghost is essential if you want to avoid the radar, while Hardline helps you rack up Scorestreaks faster so you can keep momentum once you start winning gunfights.
Toughness isn’t as important for this MP7 style, since you’re typically in close range and firing from the hip more often than not. Instead, use Scavenger to keep your ammo supply stable. For Perk 3, Awareness helps you track enemy positions, and Dead Silence lets you mute your own movement so you can move in and set up the next fight on your terms.
To run a class with this many perk benefits, you’ll need to equip the Perk 1 Greed and Perk 3 Greed Wildcards, and you also have to make sure you don’t bring any secondary weapon, lethal equipment, or tactical equipment. As with any class, perk choices are flexible, so if any of these options don’t fit your playstyle, feel free to swap them out for something that better matches how you like to fight.
