How to Earn the Golden Spork in Black Ops 2 Zombies: Mob of the Dead
If you’re trying to make it out of Mob of the Dead, you’ll want a weapon that can actually keep you standing. In that regard, the Golden Spork is one of the most reliable melee options you can chase—turning into a one-hit-kill tool against zombies for as long as Round 30. It’s also a relatively straightforward quest, and this Black Ops 2 Zombies guide will walk you through how to earn it.
No one escapes alive in Mob of the Dead, but following an updated Easter egg route can noticeably improve your odds of breaking the loop in Black Ops 2.
To get the Golden Spork, you’ll need to complete a chain of steps: build and use the plane, obtain the Hell’s Retriever, and secure the Acid Gat. You can also follow the separate walkthroughs for each part of that process.
How to Get the Spoon in Mob of the Dead
When you’re dealing with the Warden’s Officer, turn your attention to the right side of the area to locate a cell with a movie poster. Your next move is to throw the Hell’s Retriever at that exact poster to make an Afterlife door appear. Once it’s revealed, head over to the Afterlife station to the left of the poster and enter the newly unlocked room.
Inside the Afterlife room, check the ground—you’ll find the Spoon. It can be zapped to trigger an audio cue. After that, revive yourself and make your way to the Cafeteria. In the back section, the Spoon is sitting on a metal shelf (as shown in the image from the original guide), and you can throw the Hell’s Retriever at it to pick it up.
How to Get the Golden Spork in Mob of the Dead
Once you have the Spoon, go to the Infirmary and head to the back-right corner where you’ll find a bathtub (the same general area as the Mystery Box). Interact with the bloodied tub, and your Spoon will sink into it.
Next, pick up the Blundergat and upgrade it into the Acid Gat. After that, you’ll need to enter the Showers and eliminate 50 zombies using the Acid Gat. On the 50th kill, you’ll hear an ominous laugh. When the audio cue finishes, return to the bathtub and interact with it again to claim the Golden Spork.
The Golden Spork remains a one-hit-kill melee weapon until Round 33.
