Mob of the Dead 2026 Easter Egg Walkthrough: Step-by-Step Guide
If you’re hopping back into Mob of the Dead in 2026, there’s still one goal that a lot of players haven’t managed to finish: the Mob of the Dead easter egg. Below is a step-by-step walkthrough that takes you through the full process, so you can either break the loop or keep the cycle going. Follow along carefully—this route is built to tell you exactly what to do at each stage.
You can also complete the Little Lost Girl easter egg in Origins either solo or in co-op, using the corresponding dedicated walkthrough that covers every step.
For Mob of the Dead, the easter egg is limited to co-op with at least two players. If you’re using Plutonium, there’s an option to install an improved solo version of the easter egg so solo players can attempt it without co-op.
- Get the Warden’s Key.
- Feed the three Cerberus heads to obtain Hell’s Retriever.
- Use Hell’s Retriever to collect five blue skills and earn the Blundergat.
- Build the plane and head to the Golden Gate Bridge.
- Collect the Spoon.
- Refuel the plane and use it three additional times.
- In Afterlife mode, enter the Mobster Prison Numbers into the number pad in the Citadel Tunnels: 101, 872, 481, 386.
- Follow the Headphones toward the roof.
- Use Afterlife and then enter the plane.
- Fight Weasel or fight the mobsters.
The Warden’s Key is located hanging above the Warden’s Office or above the Cafeteria entrance. To grab it, you’ll need to use Afterlife at the spot where the key hangs, go through the glowing ghost door, and then electrocute the wall panel. After reviving yourself, pick up the key.
- Warden’s Office: Go right through Broadway, then use Afterlife opposite the Warden’s Office entrance. You’ll need to jump up through an area above the doorway and zap the electrical panel.
- Cafeteria: Head opposite the Showers, enter Afterlife, and use a long-press jump to mantle into the ghost room. Zap the electrical panel inside.
Next up, you’ll deal with three wall drawings of a Cerberus dog head. At each of these locations, kill a zombie to spawn Cerberus. After that, you must kill six zombies at each head so the heads teleport away. The Cerberus locations are:
- Near the B23R Wall-Buy in the Broadway Cell Block.
- In the Infirmary, by the door that leads to the Roof.
- Near the workbench in the Docks, under the walkway.
Once all three Cerberus heads have been fed, go to the Citadel Tunnels. On the right side, you’ll find an open room where you can pick up Hell’s Retriever. This becomes your new tactical weapon (using L1/LB).
After you obtain Hell’s Retriever, the map gains five secret skulls. They won’t show up normally, only while you’re in Afterlife. If you throw Hell’s Retriever in the exact spots described below, you’ll be able to collect them:
- Outside the Library, on the toilet in the first cell on the right.
- To the right of Speed Cola in the Warden’s Office, sitting on top of the phone pole.
- On the Roof, in the back-left corner above the lamp.
- Opposite Jugger-Nog in the left corner. You’ll need to jump and throw Hell’s Retriever at the lamp.
- In the Docks, to the right of the Mystery Box on the second wooden pillar from the left.
With all five blue skulls collected, head to the Warden’s Office. When you interact with the table inside the office, the Blundergat will form. Pick it up as your new weapon.
This Blundergat is required for this easter egg step—getting one from the Mystery Box does not count.
Now you’ll build the plane. The build has five parts, and each one has its own location and interactions.
The Plane Parts: How to Build It
The Engine
Use Afterlife above the Warden’s Office and follow it to the right to zap an electric panel. Then use Afterlife at the Docks in Building 64 to zap the three activated generators. Finally, return to the Warden’s Office and use the key on the right-side cell as you enter to collect the Engine.
The Sheets
Use Afterlife opposite the Showers to find a ghost door you can enter. Look up at the pipes and zap the electrical panel, then go into the Showers and zap the panel across from the laundry machine. Interact with the laundry machine to trigger a 30-second lockdown, and when it ends, pick up the Sheets.
The Rigging
Go to the Citadel Tunnels. At the bottom of the stairs, use the Warden’s Key to unlock the number pad. Use Afterlife at the top of the stairs, look left as you descend, and locate three numbers. Enter them at the number pad, revive yourself, and then proceed into the elevator below to pick up the Rigging.
The Gas Tanks
In the Docks, there’s an Afterlife panel. Stand at it and activate the power switch, then grab the Gas Tanks. After that, use Afterlife again to escape the room by zapping the same power switch.
The Valves
In the Infirmary, there’s a locked cabinet. Use the Warden’s Key to interact with it and grab the Gas Tanks (as instructed in this step).
The Plane
Once you’ve collected all five pieces, use Afterlife in the Infirmary. With your back to the Roofs, head right to find a secret room. Climb through and zap the rooftop power switch. Return to your body and assemble the plane on the runway.
After the plane is built, take it to the Golden Gate Bridge. After 30 seconds, an electric chair spawns that lets you return to Alcatraz.
When you get back to Alcatraz after using the plane, head toward the Warden’s Office. On the cell to the right closest to the Warden’s Office, you’ll see a movie poster. Throw Hell’s Retriever at that poster to reveal a secret wall.
Outside the Warden’s Office, there’s an Afterlife station. Use it to reach the new ghostly hole in the wall. Look down to find a spoon you can electrocute, which teleports it to the Cafeteria.
Go to the Cafeteria. To the left of the crafting table, you’ll find a metal shelf just outside the zombie barrier. Throw Hell’s Retriever at this shelf to collect the spoon.
In each location where you found a plane part, you will now see a gas can. Pick up all five gas cans and interact with the plane to refuel it. Then you need to repeat this refuel-and-setup step until you’ve returned to Pack-a-Punch three times.
After you’ve returned to Alcatraz following visits to the Golden Gate Bridge three times in total, go down the spiral stairs in the Citadel Tunnels. The number pad will now flash random digits. Use Afterlife from the top of the stairs and enter the four numbers shown on the playable characters’ prison suits:
- 101
- 872
- 481
- 386
After each correct entry, the number pad will blink and change digits. Be careful: being in Afterlife mode without reviving yourself will kill you. So complete the process across two Afterlife uses rather than dying mid-sequence.
Once the mobster numbers are entered and you’ve revived yourself, Brutus the Warden will speak. The screen turns black and white, with narration from Stanley Ferguson. At this point, you can find a Headphones power-up on the staircase in the Citadel Tunnels. Pick up the headphones and listen to the narration. When it finishes, the next headphones spawn in these locations:
- Close to Double Tap Root Beer.
- On the walkway between the Warden’s Office and the Cafeteria.
- On the staircase from the Cafeteria to the Infirmary.
- On the staircase to the rooftop.
After you collect all five headphones, it’s time to set up for the boss fight. When you’re ready, go to the Infirmary, enter Afterlife, and then interact with the plane. The plane doesn’t need to be refueled. If you followed the earlier steps, you’ll enter the plane while in Afterlife mode.
When you spawn at the Golden Gate Bridge, you must revive yourself at the electric chair. The boss fight then begins, and it becomes a PvP battle: either Weasel has to defeat the mobsters, or the mobsters have to defeat Weasel. Either outcome ends the match, but the endings differ.
- The Cycle Continues: If Weasel is killed by the mobsters, the loop continues. All four mobsters wake up in Alcatraz at the start of Mob of the Dead, with no memory of nearly escaping.
- The Cycle is Broken: If Weasel kills the four mobsters, the loop ends and the multiverse’s fate changes, as shown in Blood of the Dead, the canonical follow-up to Zetsubou no Shima.
No matter what you choose, your group will all unlock the Pop Goes the Weasel achievement.
