Complete Guide to Every Fortnite Runner Sprite: Locations and Abilities

Fortnite Runners is live right after the Shattered Live Event, dropping players onto a refreshed island with brand-new places to explore, a Battle Pass to work through, and a big Season 3 shake-up centered on Sprites. The latest update brings the return of Sprites—old favorites plus new additions—and this guide breaks down every Sprite currently in the game, what each one does, and where you can track them down.

Updated on July 9, 2026, by Nathan Round: New Sprites arrive every Thursday. This week adds the Holofoil Special Sprites, and the guide has been updated with ways to obtain Holofoil Sprites plus extra tips aimed at improving your odds of pulling higher-rarity variants.

Epic is also tuning progression so you have a better shot at rare Sprites like the Zero Point Sprite during Mastery Monday. Here’s what you need to know.

Where to Find Sprites in Fortnite Runners

Right now, the most reliable way to earn Sprites in Fortnite is by opening Sprite Chests. Each one guarantees a Sprite upon opening, and those Sprites can be found in specific areas across the Fortnite island. They can also spawn in Vaults—see above for every possible Sprite Chest location in Fortnite.

Sprite Chests aren’t the only dependable source, though. Fishing Spots give you a high chance of securing a Gummy Sprite of any type. Quests dropped from containers are also a solid option—when you complete them, a random Sprite can spawn as a reward.

Even though Sprite Chests are the best method, regular chests and Rare Chests can still drop Sprites, just with much lower odds. On top of that, there are multiple secrets players can complete, and some of them increase your likelihood of finding Sprites such as Gummy variants. Here are every secret that can potentially drop a Sprite in Fortnite:

  • Aquarium Vault at the Quackaway
  • Cluster Coast Duck Vault
  • Wishing Fountain at Sunken Shores
  • Golden Grove underground Waterfall
  • Heatwave Harbor Duck Race
  • Underground lab at the Golden Grove Car Wash
  • Sinister Strip Locked Cell
  • Wonkeeland Zip Zonk Bang Mini Game
  • Mysterious Door at Battlewoods

Once you find a Sprite, hit the interact input to store it in your inventory and activate its passive effect. After that, you can head to the nearest Extract Point, or use a Portable Extractor if you haven’t already secured that Sprite in your Sprite Collection.
