Learn How to Open and Control Your Phone in Gakuran
Gakuran can feel like a tough climb at first—there’s very little hand-holding, so you end up figuring out most systems on your own. If you want an easier start, focus on one early skill: learning how to use your phone. Here’s a straightforward walkthrough for opening it and controlling it while you’re playing.
Checklists
Because the game doesn’t offer much direction, it’s easy to get turned around right away. A solid way to break the confusion is to learn how your phone works before you do anything else. Once you can open it reliably, you’ll be able to interact with other players and handle smaller tasks with far less stress.
How to Use Your Phone
After you load into Gakuran, you can use your phone immediately. When you’re ready, press the Alt key on the left side of your keyboard. Your character will pull out their phone, and it will show up on the right side of your screen.
Once the phone is out, you can interact with it while your character holds it. Press Left Alt again to put the phone away. Use the arrow keys to navigate the phone’s menu, Enter to confirm your choice (the equivalent of tapping “OK”), and Backspace to go back. The M key opens the menu, and you can also use the number keys to select corresponding options on your phone.
These controls form the core of what you’ll do with your in-game smartphone. Most often, you’ll use it to interact with other players or run smaller activities like playing built-in games. For instance, you can add people to your contacts when both players have their phones out and hold them close together, then follow up with in-game messages by texting through the phone.
The phone also includes a camera feature for your in-game smartphone experience. To explore the rest of the interface, click the menu icon in the middle of your phone to bring up additional options.
