Palworld Confirms No Price Increase After 1.0 Exit from Early Access

Palworld is not getting a post-launch price hike after its version 1.0 debut, a notably consumer-friendly decision in a market where early access games commonly become more expensive once they’re fully out.

Palworld’s Price Won’t Increase

Pocketpair confirmed the move through a social media post, stating, “After giving it a great deal of thought, we’ve decided not to raise the price of Palworld after the 1.0 release, and we’ll keep it at $29.99.” The studio added that it’s proud of how far the game has come, and thanked players for the support that helped it become a hit.

The message continues with a brief thank-you note: the cost will remain at $29.99, and the team expressed appreciation for continued community backing.

Normally, studios increase pricing after an early access title leaves its “work in progress” phase, since the finished product is often treated as a more “premium” release. It also tends to reward early buyers indirectly—those who jumped in during early access already paid less in exchange for getting access sooner.

That said, it’s hard to imagine early access players feeling upset here; the comments attached to the announcement are largely upbeat.

We also went hands-on with the Palworld Official Card Game.

As detailed in a cinematic trailer shown during Summer Game Fest, the completed Palworld experience is scheduled to launch on July 10. An earlier update outlined what the full release will include:

  • Many new pals, along with a large new land area.
  • Combat that’s been significantly improved.
  • Off-shore building options.
  • Updated quests plus a refreshed main storyline.

A big return wave is likely on Friday as players jump back in to explore the new additions. Pocketpair hasn’t pinned down an exact start time publicly, but it’s aiming for 12:30 pm JST, which converts to 11:30 pm ET on July 10.

Palworld is still drawing a huge audience, topping out at around 54,000 players online at the same time each day. The game previously reached a peak of 2.1 million concurrent players about two years ago, during the period when early access was at its most popular. Pocketpair will be looking to see whether launch-weekend momentum can bring those kinds of numbers back.

Beyond the core game, the studio is expanding into publishing work, with Windrose and Never Grave among its projects. Pocketpair is also rolling out a Palworld trading card game, and it’s reportedly surprisingly strong.

Palworld’s 1.0 update launches on July 10.
