How to Start the Quest “A Pretty Plot” in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

“A Pretty Plot” is a Quest in Hello Kitty Island Adventure set in City Town, and it kicks off the introduction of a brand-new Flower species that can be grown right there. It’s also the first step in a two-Quest chain, so if you’re trying to expand your garden and follow the story thread, this is the one to start with.

How to Unlock “A Pretty Plot”

To access “A Pretty Plot,” you’ll need to clear two prior Quests:

  • Complete Wish me mell’s Friendship Quest, “Dig it Up.” This unlocks the Trowel tool.
  • Complete the City Town Quest, “Branching Out.” This is what introduces Keroppi’s Orchard.

With those done, you can begin the Quest by speaking to Wish me mell. She’ll be either in Merry Meadow near the entrance, or in Keroppi’s Orchard, which sits on the east rooftop of City Town.

Quest Checklist: What You Need to Do

  • Help Wish me mell
  • Find Lots of Fertilizer

Help Wish Me Mell: Flowers, Deception, and a Coral Scouter

When you talk to Wish me mell, she explains that she wants to thank Usahana for everything she’s done. In classic Wish me mell style, she decides the best way to do that is with flowers—and she wants your help proving that City Town can support them.

Go to City Town and speak to Wish me mell on the beach on the west side of the area. She starts chatting about flowers, but Usahana shows up and makes things awkward. Trying to cover her tracks, Wish me mell ends up accidentally telling Usahana she’s there to fish.

Your first objective is to catch 1 Coral Scouter. These fish can be found by fishing off the beach where you’re standing at all times of day. If you’re not getting one, move slightly into the water and fish from one of the small islands in the sea, since Coral Scouters tend to hang around there.

Find Lots of Fertilizer: A Big Supply and Where to Make It

After you catch the Coral Scouter, talk to Usahana. At this point, Usahana is already starting to suspect something about Wish me mell. Wish me mell appears, stumbles over her words again, and manages to keep Usahana from realizing the full truth.

Once Usahana leaves, Wish me mell finally tells you what she needs from you: 1,000 bags of Fertilizer.

Fertilizer is produced by composting seeds or flowers using either the Composter in Merry Meadow or the Compost Forge in Wheatflour Wonderland. Even though the goal sounds huge, the process can be streamlined. Here are practical ways to move faster toward the 1,000-bag target:

  • Use Flower Seeds that spawn around Merry Meadow daily. There are 24 seeds per day. If possible, bring TOPHAT as your companion while collecting them—he can sometimes spawn extra items.
  • Plant and harvest efficiently. Fill every plot in Merry Meadow and around Friendship Island with flowers you can harvest, and water them regularly. It can be smart to spend some of your saved Fertilizer here too, because fertilized flowers are more likely to produce new flowers in nearby empty plots.
  • Use the Crane Craze minigame. You can earn additional seeds via Mystery Seed Capsule rewards.
  • Check for daily Fertilizer gifts. If Lutz and Marin are visiting or living on your island, talk to them every day since they provide Fertilizer as a gift.

When you give the Fertilizer to Wish me mell, she tells you that you’ll need to set up the plots at night. That’s where the Quest ends—so you’ll have to wait until nighttime to begin the next part.
